To hope Trump actually does catch COVID?

I said all along that this wasn’t real, that this was a publicity stunt so that he could say he’d been through it and this was just proof that COVID wasn’t anything to be afraid of. And now he’s leaving hospital and has said:

"Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!!"
So now he’s saying that he’s come through COVID without issue (after a three whole days,) I hope he actually catches it so he can be exposed as a the liar and fraud he actually is. FWIW I don’t wish him serious illness or worse, just that COVID comes calling to expose him....

Not voted, but I’ve never before wished someone get a little ill. Hope he’s back in hospital. The damage that’s likely to unfold from that tweet doesn’t bear thinking about.

I was thinking that but then all the other staff have it as well, so surely they won't be making that up.

I am more inclined to believe the rumour that he tested positive a few days earlier than they said.

He isn’t yet at the danger point from what I understand, he might be back in hospital sooner than he thinks. But YANBU, he is beyond insufferable and has had treatment that won’t be available to the poor fools outside the hospital gates if they catch it.

I think he's a liar but on this occasion I suspect be probably has had Covid, as half the White House now seem to have caught it. Plus I don't think Melania would have agreed to be in on a fake illness.

Are you saying you still don't believe he has tested positive for covid? yes. The fact that several in the White House have tested positive would make it easier for him to claim to be one of them. Nobody else would know, just the person responsible for “doing the test” who was no doubt someone close to him who could be trusted or face the consequences if they didn’t.

The rest of his aids would just be told that the president has COVID, they wouldn’t see the test or anything like that so they would be none the wiser.

As for Melania, she might have tested positive, or she might be towing the party line. After all she is married to him by choice.

Good point. I think people tend to project what they want to believe onto Melania, since we so rarely hear from her, but the idea she is a nice person who is somehow caught up in being married to Trump against her will is probably wishful thinking.
