To hope Trump actually does catch COVID?

AlternativePerspective · 05/10/2020 21:28

I said all along that this wasn’t real, that this was a publicity stunt so that he could say he’d been through it and this was just proof that COVID wasn’t anything to be afraid of. And now he’s leaving hospital and has said:

"Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!!"
So now he’s saying that he’s come through COVID without issue (after a three whole days,) I hope he actually catches it so he can be exposed as a the liar and fraud he actually is. FWIW I don’t wish him serious illness or worse, just that COVID comes calling to expose him....

@Stellarto1s

Nasty lot on here, aren’t you?
If I don’t like what I’m reading on the Internet, I tend to close the page I’m reading.
FamilyOfAliens · 06/10/2020 08:23

@derxa

And as I said above, you don’t live in the UK, so why are you on a UK parenting site? Oh for goodness sake. There are many people on here who are posting from outside the UK.
Most of them tend to bring a bit more to the party than telling people they’re nasty for holding a different view, though.
Stellarto1s · 06/10/2020 08:26

So AlternativePerspect you can slam my President from the U.K. but I can’t defend him from the US? For your information, I am a British born citizen now living in the States as an American citizen, and I have as much right as you to pass my opinion.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 06/10/2020 08:28

His propaganda is dangerous. I doubt he faked a positive test but his behaviour around this is ridiculous. He is telling the American people covid is no biggie. Disgusting.

AlternativePerspective · 06/10/2020 08:29

Oh for goodness sake. There are many people on here who are posting from outside the UK. Yes, but not many who Post to a UK site stating that those on said site have no place commenting on what goes on in a country which isn’t the UK.

OP posts:
IamTomHanks · 06/10/2020 08:32

He could well be sick. He's the type of narcissistic asshole that would be claiming it was a breeze and not to worry from his death bed.

Fucking moron.

AlternativePerspective · 06/10/2020 08:32

Where exactly did I say that you couldn’t defend him? Seems you’re reading into this thread exactly what you want to see. First you’re accusing people of wishing him dead which never actually happened, and then you’re saying that people are saying you don’t have the right to defend Donald Trump, which again, never happened.

Fact is, you came on here to say that people shouldn’t be posting about what goes on in America as they’re not there. And yet here you are posting on a UK site, commenting on what goes on in a country where you don’t live.

AlexaShutUp · 06/10/2020 08:35

What is wrong with you people? If he has Covid why would you wish him dead? I shall be voting for him AGAIN in the next election. Y’all don’t live in America, what the hell do you know?

I don't wish him dead, but I do want him to stop putting other people's lives at risk by behaving so recklessly.

As for what we know, well, we know what we see....that the US is at risk of re-electing a deeply inadequate, morally reprehensible man who is patently unfit for public office. Sadly, not only the US, but the whole world will suffer the impact of your terrible decisions, but I don't expect you to care about that.

HelloToMyKitty · 06/10/2020 08:38

so it’s ok for the elderly to die?

If you haven’t noticed, lockdowns didn’t prevent the elderly from dying. The point was to manage the hospital systems so they didn’t get overwhelmed. Somehow that changed.

Instead, we are going to have a lot of excess cancer deaths from fear. In the US, some governors (looking at you Cuomo) stuffed COVID patients into nursing homes because of fear that we’d run of of beds (plenty of beds on the navy ship and Javits Center went unused) so way more elderly people died than needed to because of panic.

The uptick in suicides and destruction of economic fortunes which can cut life short by quite a bit.

So fear of COVID is deadly.

Also do you really think that countries worldwide would essentially shut their countries down and continue to do so. Not to mention essentially destroy their economies

Except for Sweden and most of East Asia. We simply made bad decisions.

I trust the experts

Which experts? Don’t pretend they all say the same things. And if you listen to the WHO, you are foolish indeed after all their mistakes.

Rhine · 06/10/2020 08:38

If your a British born citizen then he’s not ‘your’ President is he? Tell you what if you don’t like what people on here are saying about him go and find some right wing conservative parenting site. I’m sure there must be some out there.

HelloToMyKitty · 06/10/2020 08:42

As for the conspiracy, no of course the whole medical facility wouldn’t need to be in on it. The only person who would need to be in on it is the person who could claim to have seen the test result. Everyone else would be told that the president is positive, and now if anyone tests him and it comes back negative it can simply be stated that he has made a remarkable recovery

Just stop. This is tinfoil hat territory and you should pull yourself back a bit.

You're happy to vote for the man whose utter incompetence has led to the deaths of over 215,000 Americans? Who worked with the Russians to rig the last and the current election? Who tried to stop people of colour voting? Who makes it very clear that he fundamentally despises woman? Who presides over around 40,000 gun deaths a year and will not take elementary steps to deal with that?
HelloToMyKitty · 06/10/2020 08:50

The US is a federal system. Some governors did very well, some did not. You have to look at the US like the EU.

Who worked with the Russians to rig the last and the current election?

This did not happen. No proof whatsoever.

Who tried to stop people of colour voting?

How, when the elections are controlled at the State level?

Who makes it very clear that he fundamentally despises woman?

I’ll give you this one.

Who presides over around 40,000 gun deaths a year and will not take elementary steps to deal with that?

America’s gun culture is not something to be resolved by Executive Order or Judicial fiat. It’s a right protected by the constitution, so you actually need to convince voters it’s in their best interest.

Personally I’m a big supporter of 2nd amendment rights and grew up with guns in the home (am overseas American)

Lollyneenah · 06/10/2020 09:11

@Darker thankyou Flowers

I completely agree with you on all points. I feel quite a lot of guilt that I am okay tbh, obviously his lack of empathy /showmanship prevents him from feeling the way I do. I've treated people dying of it (ambulance service) so I cant begin to explain how fortunate I feel and how sorry I am for my patients who weren't so lucky.
I'm very angry that he is putting out a message that will do doubt lead other americans to break isolation etc

I am voting for Biden, and I live in America ... and as a person whose ancestors deeply rooted in Virginia all the way back to Jamestown, and who fought in all sort wars (even the Revolution- British ) in the US , their opinion does bother me one bit so leave them alone and let them be.
blueberrypie0112 · 06/10/2020 12:40

And Trump doesn’t really have that much family history in the us. His grandfather came from Germany, that’s not long ago. And he keep marrying women born from other countries. The only American he did marry is Tiffany’s Mother and she is the only one who he begged if she would have an abortion with Tiffany. I don’t think he like Americans that much. He can’t even denounced white supremacy/proud boys (he knows who they are because as soon they brought it up, he played the what aboutism- anti fascist group. I don’t care to defend him at all

blueberrypie0112 · 06/10/2020 12:55

One more thing, I don’t want him dead, I want some empathy from him and his supporters. They all are like “not my problem”toward any concerns people have.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/10/2020 13:06

@Dumpypumpy

its made me laugh at the uproar of the security guards driving his car - these guys are trained to take a bullet for him !
As someone else pointed out - yes, for him. Not from him!

We know that Trump has an IQ lower than Forrest Gump, but an ego the size of Jupiter. His only talent is lying. Get it together people!!
AlternativePerspective · 06/10/2020 18:57

Well apparently sky news are saying that his doctors are saying he has 0 COVID symptoms now. Remarkable isn’t it? Hmm

For four years we've been asking what could be worse than Trump? Answer: Trump on steroids.

Tune in this time next week for Trump on a litre of Red Bull and two lines of coke.

Michaelschofield · 06/10/2020 21:15

What nasty comments, wishing a man ill health.

BeaverTail · 06/10/2020 21:56

In all likelihood, Trump is looking at a big loss on November 3. He's badly down in the polls (far worse than he ever was against Hillary at any point) and his position is getting worse by the day.

Were he just an incompetent blowhard, I'd be happy to wait to see him removed from office by voters.

However, he has been pushing the 'postal votes are fraudulent' angle very hard, without any evidence that any signficant voting fraud occurs.

This is particularly significant as Democrats and far, far more likely than Republicans to vote by mail (in part because they take Covid far more seriously than the Republicans do).

It is really quite likely that Trump will appear to be ahead on election night, but will lose by a large margin when the postal votes are counted up over the following weeks.

He has already refused to commit to declaring victory on election night, or to a peaceful transition of power, is trying to recruit people to intimidate voters at the polls, and has publicly asked for his white supremacist thugs to be on standby.

He is a man that could bring US democracy to its knees.

I wouldn't get any joy from his death, but he is so, so dangerous that I cant say I wouldn't feel relieved if it happened.

Janegrey333 · 06/10/2020 22:23

It’s horrible not to care if another person dies. Fgs.
