What do we reckon?

OP posts:
Elsiebear90 · 29/09/2020 21:01

Yep, just like Dave did after the Brexit vote. Then someone else will have to deal with his mess.

adawong · 29/09/2020 21:01

FFS give it a fucking rest.

ThereIsNoSuchThingAsRoadTax · 29/09/2020 21:17

Give what a rest? Are people not allowed to complain when we're governed by the most corrupt, talentless, incompetent bunch of arseholes ever to occupy the corridors of power?

NandosPeriometer · 29/09/2020 21:18

Definitely.

The baby and being ill with CV earlier this year will give him the perfect reason to resign.

MissEliza · 29/09/2020 21:21

I've never placed a bet in my life but I'm considering placing one on this outcome.

JacobReesMogadishu · 29/09/2020 21:25

He’s definitely revving up for going.

All these media stories about not earning enough, relationship problems with Carrie, ongoing post Covid issues......it’s all setting the scene.

Notfeelinggreattoday · 29/09/2020 21:26

Well both sides said talks were going and ok and moving on just a couple days ago

daisypond · 29/09/2020 21:28

Yes, definitely. He probably was going to do it all along. Now his Covid recuperation will give him a presentable reason.

DGRossetti · 29/09/2020 21:34

@Notfeelinggreattoday

No - one side did. When other European news sources confirm it's both sides I'll pay attention.
myapplegreenjumper · 29/09/2020 21:35

I hope so too!

strawberrysandpecans · 29/09/2020 21:36

Yes I think that is what will happen. He does seem to come across as somebody who is supremely self interested rather than interested in serving the country, so he's the perfect man for the job

Newjez · 29/09/2020 21:49

No. We are a week away from a deal.

Pretty piss weak deal, but a deal all the same.

Then he will resign, and we will have a new pm (rishi) in the new year.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 29/09/2020 22:04

It's like being denied annual leave for an event / weekend break that you absolutely don't want to miss and so you start faking flu symptoms several days before in preparation for the dreaded "I'm so so sorry to let you down at such a crucial time but..."

ComDummings · 29/09/2020 22:05

Yep

BigChocFrenzy · 29/09/2020 22:09

He'll also want to walk away fast - whistling like Cameron - before the final numbers for Covid come in,
with the UK currently having one of the highest death rates and highest falls in GDP

The Tories would probably dump him as a scapegoat anyway, if he doesn't walk

Gove will be sharpening his knife again, this time being more careful not to stab himself
Rishi might have a go, too

Mhschoolq · 29/09/2020 22:10

Yep! Can see this coming. Such an inept government.

maddening · 29/09/2020 22:11

He is only delivering it to the billionaires that his sister said would be making millions from a no deal brexit along with rees mogs' hedge fund who will also cash in specifically on a no deal. The rest of us are having it smashed over our heads.

BigChocFrenzy · 29/09/2020 22:11

I don't expect him to be still PM at Easter

He's found it all much too hard work
and BJ doesn't do hard work

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 29/09/2020 22:14

Yeah i reckon so

AranciaRosso · 29/09/2020 22:17

Perfect response to a pretty dumb post.
Pixxie7 · 29/09/2020 22:18

Tend to agree but it could trigger another election as I can’t see people passively accepting a unelected PM again.

Solasum · 29/09/2020 22:22

@Pixxie7 Prime Ministers are never elected directly in the UK. With the first past the post system, the Prime Minister is the leader of the party with enough seats

strawberrysandpecans · 29/09/2020 22:26

We've passively accepted everything else (and will a no deal Brexit) so I don't see why not

LeaveMyDamnJam · 29/09/2020 22:26

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a general election in the next 18 months. The tories won’t want to deal with the fallout of brexit. They have done their slash and burn.

thelake · 29/09/2020 22:27

And to make it even more sickening, he will get paid a fortune to give talks and be a consultant post being PM given what he has 'lead' (sorry, dragged) the country through -CV19 and Brexit
