their ineptitude during covid19 costing many thousands of lives... their corruption privatisation of health service appointing cronies in top jobs at bbc defunding of education health transport over past decade their living parallel lives with private education, private health, private travel, multiple homes.... their arrogance and lack of decency is heartbreaking breathtaking and they have 80 seat majority with many years before general election....

Afaik, the job at the BBC has to go out for open competition.

Refunding of education was happening when I was teaching in 2001-2006, and that was under Labour.

Having spent 13 years abroad, I don't think the NHS is the envy of the world, and there are better systems out there that fall between the two poles of the NHS and the U.S. system. If using clinics set up by non NHS organisations mean scans and EGGs get done faster, then great.

If we are blaming anyone for COVID, how about the Chinese government. I am not sure anyone has got it right, except perhaps the Swedes.

Private travel? I do that when I drive my car.

ThunderSkies · 27/09/2020 08:51

YANBU to be heartbroken, but surely you’re not surprised?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/09/2020 08:51

They’re the pits but tbh my opinion of the labour government before was equally as low!

roarfeckingroarr · 27/09/2020 08:52

I think you really need to get a grip. Heartbroken...?

emilybrontescorsett · 27/09/2020 08:55

I think the most glaring mistake was to stand by Cummings when he broke the rules. I believe the credibility of the government died then.
You can spout all you like about two wrongs don't make a right but the facts speak for themselves. I ask myself if I was a university student would I sit alone in my room all day on Christmas day because the government asked me to, or would I go home to my family?
The only thing which would make me stay alone would be if someone held a gun to my head.

Juniperandrage · 27/09/2020 08:55

I'm not heartbroken, I'm furious

thepeopleversuswork · 27/09/2020 08:56

Agree that their incompetence is unmatched in the developed world and I wish we could kick them out. Not sure “heartbroken” is how I would describe it: it’s more or less what I expected of them.

Megala · 27/09/2020 08:58

To me, “Heartbroken” implies you were expecting them to be completely different.
So I would say YABU to be heartbroken. They’re doing exactly what everyone knew they would do, and their attitudes and ineptitude are exactly what everyone knew them to be.

PileofToss · 27/09/2020 08:59

I don’t think there’s an intelligent person left in this country who can honestly say they’ve not been disappointed by this government, regardless of how low their expectations were before.

I’m sick to death of all of them, wish there was a way to get rid.

dontdisturbmenow · 27/09/2020 09:00

You're only seeing what you want to see, so biased.

Your issue if your heartbroken but I suspect you'd be no matter who was in power as like many, you seem to be expecting the impossible without full understanding of the implications that come with decision.

Btw, not a conservative fan, opted not to vote. I believe that who is in power doesn't make much of a difference. Very few nations are happy with their leaders at the moment regardless of who they are and their party.

Unless the economy is in expansion, most people think their government is crap.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 27/09/2020 09:01

I think "heartbroken" is an over-reaction.

Eve · 27/09/2020 09:02

Just wait til the Brexit shitshow happens in January!

The only people that will benefit from that are themselves and their friends! Human and workers rights will disappear quicker than a lorry stuck in a customs queue in Kent! 🙄

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 27/09/2020 09:03

Labour are now ahead in the polls.

Says it all really after they were elected on a landslide only 9 months ago.

I think the majority of the Tories want Boris out he’s a liability now. But he was elected to get Brexit done, not deal with a pandemic. I hate them too. Never thought if

Grobagsforever · 27/09/2020 09:05

The only comfort is Tory voters are getting exactly what they deserve and will hopefully learn not to be so selfish and bigoted next time they vote.

Etinox · 27/09/2020 09:06

Are you surprised OP?

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 27/09/2020 09:08

??!! Never thought ld want Theresa May back. At least she had SOME integrity

Danetobe · 27/09/2020 09:13

The public elected amateurs and nationalists to lead the country. No need to be heartbroken that they’re shit at it, ‘twas perfectly predictable.

Elai1978 · 27/09/2020 09:14

Thank fuck Labour aren’t in charge. Imagine having a PM whose brother was leading the Covid deniers.

TheBlueStocking · 27/09/2020 09:16

I really hope those who voted Conservative are finally seeing what they voted for.

Uncaring, unkind, cavalier bunch of dickheads.

ChaChaCha2012 · 27/09/2020 09:17

I misjudged Johnson. I knew he was a racist, I knew he was only out for himself, but I did think that behind the act there was an intelligent man who could critically appraise information put in front of him. I was completely wrong. What I thought was an act is the reality.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/09/2020 09:19

Is no Jobs or NHS (Anagram of Boris Johnson) This really is no joke. It’s terrifying that we’ve got another 4.5 years of this circus, well. No you can’t even call it a circus at least a circus has planning and organisation.

ChaChaCha2012 · 27/09/2020 09:19

Imagine having a PM whose brother was leading the Covid deniers.

His brother is not a part of the government, and his views couldn't be more different than Jeremy Corbyn.

Do you have the same views as your siblings? Boris Johnson certainly doesn't, unfortunately.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 27/09/2020 09:23

??!! Never thought ld want Theresa May back. At least she had SOME integrity said no one vaguely familiar with the windrush scandal

CeibaTree · 27/09/2020 09:26

OP are you heartbroken because you voted for them having fallen for their (obvious) lies? If so I have no sympathy. If anyone who voted them in has any complaints about them, they should keep them to themselves - actions have consequences. If not and you are just generally heartbroken about what has happened to the country since they came into power, then I completely stand with you.

Isitsixoclockalready · 27/09/2020 09:28

@Elai1978

Thank fuck Labour aren’t in charge. Imagine having a PM whose brother was leading the Covid deniers.
Corbyn’s brother is odd but have you heard the expression: “I am not my brother’s keeper”? Anyway, he’s gone now and Labour’s poll lead is in no small part thanks to Keir.
