their ineptitude during covid19 costing many thousands of lives... their corruption privatisation of health service appointing cronies in top jobs at bbc defunding of education health transport over past decade their living parallel lives with private education, private health, private travel, multiple homes.... their arrogance and lack of decency is heartbreaking breathtaking and they have 80 seat majority with many years before general election....

I need to be educated here........I'm going to read up on it, but do we really have to wait until the next scheduled General Election before we can have a change of government? I think the answer is yes, unless a snap election is called for whatever reason. But to at least get rid of Johnson as PM, would need a vote of No Confidence in him? Am I right?

Pretty likely Johnson will quit soon like his spineless predecessors. He is more likely to be ousted by Tories in Parliament like Gove who still wants a go at the top job.

A vote of no confidence without the support of a substantial number of Tory MPs wouldn't work - and if there are enough Tories wanting to get rid of him they will do it anyway, but I suspect he will go before he is pushed when things start getting a bit tricky for him.

In 2012 my husband and I watched that footage of Boris Johnson careening down a zipline and he said "I reckon he will end up bring prime minister one day". I said "don't be ridiculous, he is an idiot!"

Turns out we were both right.

But he had the zipwire fixed so that he would get stuck, knowing that that would get into the papers and would make him memorable and popular. So not such an idiot after all.

What bastard freed him?

I thought he lied about his weight and that's why he got stuck

Apparently someone overheard him "fixing it". He's done similar when paid to give speeches - pretends to arrive late, unprepared and having forgotten the name of the organisation he's speaking to. All an act, which he repeats at different venues.
