their ineptitude during covid19 costing many thousands of lives... their corruption privatisation of health service appointing cronies in top jobs at bbc defunding of education health transport over past decade their living parallel lives with private education, private health, private travel, multiple homes.... their arrogance and lack of decency is heartbreaking breathtaking and they have 80 seat majority with many years before general election....

OP posts:

Yes - Johnson is a liar, cheat and a hooligan thug - sacked for his lies from one job, caught on tape organising a physical assault on another person and a paid up member of The Bullingdon Club, notorious for their thuggish hooliganism, that if they were not the sons on the privileged would have put them in borstal or with a tag on. It’s well documented - for those who care to look at what an amoral shagaholic they thought fit to run the country. More worrying - fellow serving Tory MP’s selected him as their best. We can therefor assume his replacement is even worse

NotAKaren · 28/09/2020 18:07

Is not really a surprise though is it OP? You just have to look at Johnson's track record. The best we could have hoped for was that he would surround himself with a talented capable cabinet and some top advisers but no he sacked everyone that wasn't an ultra loyal Brexitier and we are left with a bunch of hapless idiots and Cummings calling the shots.

NotAKaren · 28/09/2020 18:10

@Yorkshirelass04

I think a lot of people who voted Tory and Brexit are absolutely delusional and it is going to take the country annihilated for them to cop on. Bring it on.

I have always voted to support people less fortunate than me and I just don't see the point in caring anymore.

Even when the sh** hits the fan they will still be clinging on shouting about fish and sovereignty or some nonsense
fuffit · 28/09/2020 18:27

I don't think Labour would have been so completely corrupt, seeing Covid as a money-making opportunity rather than anything else.

StoneofDestiny · 28/09/2020 18:40

But hey - some positives. The bar at Parliament has been exempted from closing at 10, and we can still all go Grouse Shooting at some distance from our home and with as many people as we like.

StoneofDestiny · 28/09/2020 18:48

Ah - see they have changed their ruling in Parliaments pub - something to do with media pressure!

bp300 · 28/09/2020 18:55

@Elai1978

Thank fuck Labour aren’t in charge. Imagine having a PM whose brother was leading the Covid deniers.
Yes and he's probably the more intelligent of the two brothers.
StoneofDestiny · 28/09/2020 19:38

Well if family members are fair game what about Johnson's father putting real lives at risk in several countries?

"The trip has met with criticism for having violated Greece’s coronavirus restrictions as well as the current travel guidance in the UK.
The Greek government, which has been lauded for the country’s comparatively low number of confirmed coronavirus cases and is eager to salvage the summer tourist season, extended its ban on flights from the UK until 15 July amid concerns over Britain’s still-high infection rates"

He flew to Greece via Bulgaria to avoid restrictions - and didn't give at shit about the well-being of the people in Greece, Bulgaria or Britain! He posed a real threat of spreading Covid nationally and internationally.

But of course, like Cummings, he's a Tory so that doesn't count!

Many also think that the elder Johnson’s trip to Greece via the Bulgarian capital of Sofia went against the overarching advice of the Foreign Office, which currently recommends avoiding “all but essential” travel.

SheWranglesRugRats · 28/09/2020 19:39

Seeing as experts have been flagging a pandemic as the biggest risk to the country for years and years, they should have had a fucking plan to deal with one.

Eve · 28/09/2020 22:16

And don’t forget Boris’s brother now recruited to a health firm to grab them a share of the government friends and family bonus contract offers!

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 28/09/2020 23:30

I might be if I thought there was a reasonable alternative to have in power. They're all as bad as each other.

longwayoff · 28/09/2020 23:53

Heartbroken? No, they're behaving as I anticipated they would, although Covid's thrown a spanner in the works. Stock your cupboards for January, plenty more delights in store for us.

Ubercornsfunkytop3 · 28/09/2020 23:53

I remember saying to a friend after he (Borris) got in, well I just hope we don’t have to deal with anything really serious during his term ......It’s a shame Jeremy Hunt didn’t win the leadership campaign.

schubertdibdab · 28/09/2020 23:54

Labour are ahead in the polls! So was Clinton.

As for the delusional, racist Brexit voters, I'm guessing you don't want them to return to voting Labour then?

FOJN · 29/09/2020 00:09

I think a lot of people who voted Tory and Brexit are absolutely delusional and it is going to take the country annihilated for them to cop on. Bring it on.

I can't understand this mindset. It won't just affect the people who voted for things you don't approve of, it will affect everyone and yet you seem to relish the prospect. Why? Are you desperate for the opportunity to say "told you so"? Sounds like you'd be happy for the entire country to fall apart so you can feel superior, it's quite distasteful.

Would you rather be right or would you rather be happy?

Totickleamockingbird · 29/09/2020 00:16

@ChaChaCha2012

I misjudged Johnson. I knew he was a racist, I knew he was only out for himself, but I did think that behind the act there was an intelligent man who could critically appraise information put in front of him. I was completely wrong. What I thought was an act is the reality.
Most of the time, it’s not a conspiracy. It’s incompetence.
RepeatSwan · 29/09/2020 00:26

I voted 'yabu' just because to be heartbroken I feel your have needed to expect something different.

Johnson is Johnson.
The Conservative party is the conservative party.

TheNewLook · 29/09/2020 00:26

Did they steal all the punctuation as well?

Bastards.

SheWranglesRugRats · 29/09/2020 06:54

Clinton won the popular vote by a country mile.

Yorkshirelass04 · 29/09/2020 08:41

@FOJN But I am right. Brexit and the Tory government are damaging the country. Maybe when people are on their knees they will stop making excuses for them. Or maybe they won't - but it seems the only way.

It's not about feeling superior so don't be like that.

HMSSophie · 29/09/2020 09:07

I'm with yourkshire; I used to care about society and people worse off than me. Now I don't give a ferret's fart. We live in a democracy and "the people" wanted a) Brexit and b) anConservative government, so let them reap their rewards at leisure.

SpikeyBaby · 29/09/2020 09:19

I wish I could believe that Tory voters might understand the havoc and disaster they've ushered in, but I don't. I agree with the pp who said they always just double down; we've had 4 years now of mindless yelling about sovrinteeeeee and taking back control, as the country swirls further and further down the shitter.

I understand the feeling of being heartbroken. Not because I expected any better from the venal fuckers in power but because I feel desperately sad at what the country has become under them and I worry about what is ahead for us. But I agree that sometimes it's tempting to say, fuck 'em. Because apparently 'they knew what they were voting for'.

It's possible to be heartbroken and furious at the same time.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 29/09/2020 09:35

I agree. That attitude is so disturbing.
Hingeandbracket · 29/09/2020 10:51

@Yorkshirelass04

@FOJN But I am right

It's not about feeling superior so don't be like that.

Ok then.

FWIW I agree about the country being damaged by a Tory government, but the rest of your analysis and attitude sucks and is so rooted in tribalism it's as bad as some of the Tory apologists IMHO.

luckylavender · 29/09/2020 11:09

@Babdoc - putting aside the fact that 'Labour would have been worse' is an unprovable & rather a playground argument, why mention Diane Abbott? Because she's not financially capable, because of one interview. Educate yourself on what she's achieved (it's remarkable) & the daily abuse she gets & then ask yourself if, had she become Home Secretary (the job she would have got) she could do better than Priti Patel, a woman who currently isn't fit to lace her boots. For the record in case you think I'm a rabid Corbynite, I'm not & I'm glad he's gone. But by goodness this Johnson administration us an incompetent inept shambles.
