If you like them go for it!

BlackeyedSusan · 26/09/2020 23:41

People can eat what they like. I don't like mushy peas but if someone does, so what?

BaronessBomburst · 26/09/2020 23:42

Lush!

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/09/2020 23:42

Ewww, no, that's all kinds of wrong.

Sevo7 · 26/09/2020 23:43

Mil offers homemade mushy peas with her Sunday roast, I have to say I was shocked at first and refused to put any on my plate as it just didn’t sit right with me,but having now tried them they’re actually really nice.

orangejuicer · 26/09/2020 23:46

YABVU. We used to have mushy pea sandwiches waiting for Sunday dinner to be ready. Fab times. Grin

Votesforpedro · 26/09/2020 23:49

Peas in any shape or form have no place on a Sunday lunch in my opinion

Moonshinemisses · 26/09/2020 23:50

Each to their own. I could eat mushy peas with pretty much anything or just by themselves with
Lots of salt & vinegar

MeganChips · 26/09/2020 23:52

Love them. Especially proper ones soaked for hours rather than out of a can.

The perfect combination is with pork belly, roast potatoes and Savoy cabbage.

I like mushy peas but not on a roast dinner. It just feels wrong to me! Peas are acceptable. Mushy ones are not. You wouldn't put cauliflower rice on a roast dinner would you? But florets are fine.

I never have but would love to

sorryforswearing · 26/09/2020 23:58

My mom always did mushy peas with Sunday dinner so I think it’s quite normal. Our local carvery does garden and/or mushy peas. I prefer garden peas (my favourite vegetable. It’s personal preference.

JollyGiraffe12 · 26/09/2020 23:58

Yuck!! YANBU

Yes, I always make proper ones!

That does sound nice, and also an acceptable compromise as it's not quite a roast dinner but close enough.

I’ve seen people who have SWEETCORN on their roast dinner.

Now thats weirdConfused

SenorFrog · 27/09/2020 02:28

Totally belong, absolutely lush. Proper steepy peas though, not tinned.

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/09/2020 02:28

Oh no .
Sweetcorn does not belong at all.

DramaAlpaca · 27/09/2020 03:07

Nope. Any sort of peas are just wrong with a roast. Mushy peas are only OK with fish and chips.

squeekums · 27/09/2020 03:15

Yuk
Mushy peas are all kinds of wrong

justilou1 · 27/09/2020 04:01

Baby food

seayork2020 · 27/09/2020 04:07

I love them with fish and chips or pie but not as much with roasts but if you love it go for it!

Love my Yorkshire Caviar

AbsentmindedWoman · 27/09/2020 04:49

I really like mushy peas but not the tinned ones!

Florencex · 27/09/2020 06:00

No peas should ever be on a roast dinner. I don’t like mushy peas or unmushed peas but I can see they go with other meals, not a roast though.

Angelina82 · 27/09/2020 06:06

If you like mushy peas (I’m not keen) why not? Then again I love garden peas, and sometimes sweet corn too with my roast dinner. 🤷🏻‍♀️
