Not sure that I'll put up with this in autumn and winter. It was bad enough when our spring weather was not great.

Then do click and collect.
Or wear waterproofs.
Or get stuff delivered.

Lockheart · 26/09/2020 20:24

You'll have to put up with it. I'm sure you'll adapt.

Givemeabreak88 · 26/09/2020 20:25

I haven’t seen queues outside since the beginning, where is making you queue outside?

lughnasadh · 26/09/2020 20:26

Well what are you going to do?

Elbow people out of the way while yelling 'down with this sort of thing'?

liverbird10 · 26/09/2020 20:26

Grin What do you intend to do, scream "CHARGE!!!!!" and run headfirst into the poor sods on minimum wage who will be stuck manning the doors?

SquirmOfEels · 26/09/2020 20:28

@Givemeabreak88

I haven’t seen queues outside since the beginning, where is making you queue outside?
I like everyone near a Tesco, Londi, Co-op, Sainsbury and a couoke of small independent convenience stores.

There's always a queue for Sainsbury's, but never for the others. Simply can't understand it

ivfbeenbusy · 26/09/2020 20:29

I haven't seen any worse queues than normal?
In fact I sort of miss them in a crazy way as it was my time to daydream or read on my phone whilst DH had DD - I was WFH all the way through with a 4 year old and shopping was the only time I got a break and had human contact. - had some good chats in the Sainsbury queue!

One piss taker though drove up and played walk the line on repeat for 20 minutes really loudly for his car! But there was a nice sense of camaraderie

Bagelsandbrie · 26/09/2020 20:32

My local Tesco is back to making people queue outside again (South Norfolk). It’s annoying especially when it’s raining but I guess it’s what we have to do to try and keep socially distanced properly and keep the infection rate lower. Miserable though.

Quarantino · 26/09/2020 20:33

Earlier in the year I'm sure some stores said they'd initiate a car-queuing system in bad weather, so you don't need to get out of your car to queue to go in.

waitforitwaitforit · 26/09/2020 20:34

I've not seen any queues this time around. Or any food shortages. Our Tesco had everything today, hundreds of loo roll, pasta and soap. I wonder why the media is trying to imply otherwise... [cough brexit cough]

Atthecopacorona · 26/09/2020 20:36

Haven't seen any queues or any diminished stock yet. Shops here have enough loo roll to build a small castle

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/09/2020 20:37

Huge queue outside my Sainsbury's this morning. Same last weekend and the previous weekend although the queue was longer today.

I really hope we're not starting this bullshit again.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 26/09/2020 20:39

Bad weather will be the best time to shop as the queues will be at there shortest. Thick coat, hat, gloves, boots and umbrella and you'll be in in no time.

FatimaMunchy · 26/09/2020 20:39

Our local Asda has had very little loo roll all week. Today there was some, but it was only Cushelle.

katy1213 · 26/09/2020 20:40

I haven't seen a queue in months. But eggs were rationed in Waitrose today!

Snog · 26/09/2020 20:40

Even our local charity shops have queues outside now...

caughtalightsneeze · 26/09/2020 20:41

No queuing or shortages at my local Tesco or Sainsbury's thankfully.

Plussizejumpsuit · 26/09/2020 20:41

Just go late on in tha day like I have done the whole time. I've never queued at that time

Okaro · 26/09/2020 20:42

Tesco has no queue this morning and it was one of the big ones. The only queue was McDonald’s drive thru Grin

StephenBelafonte · 26/09/2020 20:43

Would wearing a coat be an option? Grin

timegoesbysoslowly · 26/09/2020 20:43

Not the same but traffic was chaos today, roundabout blocked so traffic couldn't go straight on, stuck for about 20 mins they realised it was cars bloody queuing for McDonald's.

BlackberrySky · 26/09/2020 20:43

I haven't queued outside any shops for ages. No queues here.

ClashCityRocker · 26/09/2020 20:44

Yep, I've had to queue a couple of times this week for the first time in a while.

I don't mind too much but hope they bring back elderly priority hours.

PottedIvy · 26/09/2020 20:46

Queues at our local supermarket today but not too bad. We have a weekly slot with sainsburys so hopefully that will save us too much queuing outside in the rain!

Lovelivelaughcry · 26/09/2020 20:46

It's funny that a few have mentioned sainsbury's in particular. In my area that is the only store that had a queue long after all the others gave up with the queuing. Are they operating a different system to the others or something?? I didnt go there for weeks as they were the only one with a queue
