To ask is it weird if you never masturbate?

I vaguely remember doing it in my teens but never have since. I’ve just been watching I hate Suzie and she does quite a lot of it and it’s kind of reminded me that I never do it but everyone else probably does. I’ve just never felt the desire to. It feels a bit gross and stupid and I would feel totally ridiculous even attempting it.

Just so as not to drip feed, I’ve been with the same guy since I was 18 (now in my forties) and I’ve always had a low sex drive especially since having a baby and a third degree tear. I do fancy men and think about them in that way but just can’t do what other people do, it’s just...icky.

Putting myself out on a limb here, just want to know what it means - am I asexual or a prude or what?!

You get a shameful feeling after?

nettytree · 10/01/2022 13:47

I do occasionally, but it's not the same. Luckily my husband is quite happy to do it for me and not expect me to return the favour. He has a much lower sex drive than me and loves to see me cum.

Normalsnormal · 10/01/2022 20:59

Is it just my frustrated husband or do others find they a wet with sperm in mornings?

fuckoffImcounting · 10/01/2022 21:47

I used to do it all the time as a teen and twenty something, even in the loos in the library at University. Becoming a mum slowed me up a bit, now that I am as old as dirt I don't often do it but I try to keep going as I think it is healthy - and I do enjoy an orgasm.

Bit creepy that someone resurrected this zombie thread with a brief comment presumably intended to get women to answer the OP again?

I used to far more, every day even if in a relationship (the more sex I was having the more orgasm I wanted)

Most of my most intense orgasms are the ones I give myself with or without help of a partner

And they change in intensity over the month

Not so keen on vibrators but maybe need to look at the newer ones

@hoping4onlychild

Never masturbated either. Married to the first and only person I ever had s*x with. In my 20s with no kids.

We are all different.

The fact you put a * in sex here speaks volumes!
GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/01/2022 00:01

Each to their own... but "gross", "icky", "stupid", "ridiculous"? Perhaps your attitude to sex is dampening your drive.

I was thinking this too.

Fair enough not to want to masturbate, no one is going to make you, and I don’t think it “makes you” anything.

But odd to take such a view about it. Masturbation for women can be an exploration of your sexuality, can involve vibrators etc, but can also be a very simple, straightforward thing.

Hemingwayscatz · 11/01/2022 00:07

I haven’t really bothered since I moved in with DH. Did it slightly more when I was single but it was never a very regular thing. I honestly wouldn’t have time to do it now unless I did it with DH sleeping beside me which is just weird.

Tumbleweed101 · 11/01/2022 00:11

I've been single for 10 yrs so it's the only way I can relieve any sexual tension.

AfterSchoolWorry · 11/01/2022 01:01

I never do.

I'm not attracted to myself. 😂

JugglingJanuary · 11/01/2022 09:44

@NewLevelsOfTiredness

Nothing wrong with having a low sex drive...I do think it's a 'use it or lose it' thing, though.

This is why I always, subtly, make sure my fiancée's vibrators are fully charged. My vague and possibly misguided man logic is that in the long term our sex life benefits from her feeling sexually 'independent' and having plenty of fun while home alone.

Creepy.

I'm interested to know how all these people who masturbate very often manage to do it without their partners being in the room? Some posters said things like "I do it to help me sleep" and I'm thinking, where is your partner?
