Or is this an unusual bra size?

Just put my measurements into boob or bust and it came back with 32G. Is it just me or is that an unusual size. Didn't think my boobs were that big. I currently wear a 34 or 36 D or DD depending on progress or pregnancy/breastfeeding/weight loss/gain.
Where would I even buy 32G. I'm a skint student so can't be spending ££ on 1 bra!

No,not unusual at all. don't forget that a boob in a 32g cup is smaller than a boob in a 36g cup - the letters scale with the band size.

Debenhams do a great range of g cup bras, that's where I get mine

Suzi888 · 07/09/2020 11:03

Primark?

tiredanddangerous · 07/09/2020 11:04

No I don't think it's an unusual size. The problem is that the majority of women are wearing a back size that's too big, and cup size that's too small. I'm pretty sure you'd get a 32G at Sainsburys or Asda that would be reasonably priced.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 07/09/2020 11:05

It's a normal size if you use a proper measurement technique like Boob or Bust.

M&S would never measure you that- to their and your detriment.

Heidi1976 · 07/09/2020 11:05

Pour Moi do nice bras in larger sizes and have sales on.

It's not that strange, I did BOB the other week and found out I was a 32FF (always thought I was 34DD!)

Amortentia · 07/09/2020 11:06

Have a look at Debenhams, the have a range in that size that are often on sale. You can easily get bras in that size for £14.

purpleme12 · 07/09/2020 11:08

I agree do many people are in the wrong size.
But I've always been measured at bravissimo and I realised the first time that they were right.
But I don't think a lot of people get measured because they don't have need to go to a shop like that.
Do other shops not measure you right either?

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 07/09/2020 11:10

I will have a look in Sainsbury's and Asda, Thankyou. A quick Google told me that the bigger boob ships were all wanting £30 per bra which is un achievable for me at the moment.

M&S measured me at a 34d last time (5years ago mind) l. BOB measurements had my under bist at 31 or 32 inches so it makes sense to have a 32 back. Just shocked at the G part

I'm 32 f sometimes g .. I get them from m and s !

MaverickDanger · 07/09/2020 11:11

32G is a pretty normal size - that band size is pretty easy to buy for and most high street shops now go up to G cup.

A 28/30 band size is much trickier, or once you start getting bigger than an H cup, that’s when you are looking at spending a fortune.

Brastop has cheap bras in that size, under £20. M&S, Figleaves and ASOS all again have bras around the £15-20 mark.

I think I have heard of more size 12 ish women going from a 34/36 D/DD to a 32G than any other cup size. As one of them, I don’t find it particularly big or difficult to buy for now - compared to now I’m pregnant and having to buy a ridiculously big size!

Lweji · 07/09/2020 11:12

Better to have a couple of well cared for well fitting bras than several cheap ones in the wrong size.

It won't be easy to find those sizes in the high street.
But check shops like Bravissimo (try the sales) to see what fits and get advice - avoid most high street, particularly M&S.

Online there are a few stores, sometimes with discounts.

E.g.
www.brastop.com/search/go?q=32g

PourMeAGlassOfMilk · 07/09/2020 11:13

I'm a 32gg so not far off you. Can get bras quite easily at Next, M&S, some supermarkets, so fairly standard.

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 07/09/2020 11:14

A lot of high street shops / supermarkets miss FF, so their G will be a size too small. You'll need a GG in these places. Brastop online sell "true" G cups, and often have sales.

sanityisamyth · 07/09/2020 11:14

Definitely not unusual. I'm a 34J.

ThatLibraryMiss · 07/09/2020 11:17

Belle Lingerie

eBay's good too, although you have to wade through listings that come up when you search for your size but don't actually sell that size.

purpleme12 · 07/09/2020 11:17

When did this 'new' way of sizing come in? I saw new but I know I always must have been doing this anyway unknowingly.
Because I don't think people have always been doing this have they?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 07/09/2020 11:21

People have historically done the "add 4/5" way.

adventurealice · 07/09/2020 11:21

i would be scared of buying something that's the wrong size that you can't return in the current climate. may be worth going to a smaller store that can size you up properly. there are even fitters in some stores who can mostly do it by sight.

Appuskidu · 07/09/2020 11:21

Bravissimo have loads of nice ones.

NothingTraLaLa · 07/09/2020 11:22

I went from a 34DD to 30G when I got measured properly (32 now thanks to 2 children permanently expanding my ribcage). I get mine from Bravissimo but it is expensive so plan on looking at the places previous posters mentioned.

Goodnamesalltaken · 07/09/2020 11:23

Try brastop.com they offer bigger bras at a discount. I use them for my 28ff daughter. Whenever I bought her a bra from bravissimo at full price she would grow out of it within a month, so was becoming very costly. At bra stop I haven't paid more than £25 for a bra including sports bras. They often have additional sales and sometimes do free delivery.

Seeline · 07/09/2020 11:24

I get mine at M&S too. Don't get measured there though.

I just try on a range until I find one that fits. Generally need to add 4" to your measured back size and start from there. Bravissimo have a really helpful guide to fitting on their website.

QueenPaws · 07/09/2020 11:24

Don't add 4 on!

WombatStewForTea · 07/09/2020 11:27

Also a 32G here on BOB and m&s measured at 36D. I was dubious at first but it fits so much better.
Don't mess about trying to get a cheap supermarket bra. Even if you do find the size they aren't true to size and don't fit. Somewhere on BOB there's a table that tells you what size to buy in other places that are the same as your BOB size.

Brastop is your friend www.brastop.com/shop/32g-lingerie-bras

DemolitionBarbie · 07/09/2020 11:28

I really hate that people take being above a certain size as something extreme. It's like people have an identity bound up in their cup size and think being anything over a D means you're slutty or something.

As someone who was already in a G cup at school, I find it really tiresome. Just wear a bra that fits you!
