Or is this an unusual bra size?

Just put my measurements into boob or bust and it came back with 32G. Is it just me or is that an unusual size. Didn't think my boobs were that big. I currently wear a 34 or 36 D or DD depending on progress or pregnancy/breastfeeding/weight loss/gain.
Where would I even buy 32G. I'm a skint student so can't be spending ££ on 1 bra!

@Elephantday82

I’m a 35ff. I like non wired and mostly get them from M&S, I won’t let them measure me though!

Bonprix do bigger bras at a reasonable price. Also the bras I like in M&S I have found brand new and half the price on eBay.

35?!
jolokoy · 07/09/2020 13:37

32G sounds completely normal for that size. You might also try 34F and 34FF, depending on your boob shape and bra type.

You can get these sizes in normal stores like ASDA: direct.asda.com/george/women/lingerie/bras/lace-t-shirt-bras-2-pack/GEM773406,default,pd.html?cgid=D1M18G2C1

I'm 32G and tend to buy at M&S. You can get them for around £15 each.

I'm a 32g. I can't buy these from Asda. Have in fact tried but the band is so large it's ridiculous (I think the bands are bigger in asda than other shops).

TheRealHousewife · 07/09/2020 13:48

I did a boob or bust measure and ordered on the back of that (after reading rave reviews on MN) Everything had to go back. I can’t remember exact sizes but usually I’m a 34G ... their site suggested something like a 30J .... band that tight unable to fasten. Cup’s humongous even for my very generous Twins 😮

Back to my 34Gs :)

3WildOnes · 07/09/2020 13:54

I’ve said this before on these threads but I much prefer the old + 4 inches way of measuring. I ‘should’ wear a 28 ff but I am much more comfortable in a 32d. Wearing a 28ff leaves me with horrid back pain and I spend my whole time pulling at my bra band to try and stop it digging in.

stovetopespresso · 07/09/2020 13:56

amazon do bra bargains in those type of sizes - the more mainstream measurers get lumped with mega expensive £40 prices while the G+ can be like £12

MulticolourMophead · 07/09/2020 13:58

I'm finding style has an effect on the bras I pick. I don't like the balconette style, they give me the feeling the straps are too close to the edge of my shoulders, and I find plunge or full cups more supportive.

I'm making do with the bras I currently have for a little while, then when I've lost more weight, I'll re-measure myself and get some new bras.

Fink · 07/09/2020 13:58

I'm similar. Used to wear around a 34C, then started going to Rigby & Peller and immediately went down a couple of sizes in the back and up several in the cup. 32G is perfectly normal size and won't look 'big' in the way that I used to think a G cup would always be massive.

JuneFromBethesda · 07/09/2020 14:21

Also so sick of the amount of large cup bras that are either padded or moulded. Why on earth would an already ample cup need either of these things? I know the moulding is for shape but what's wrong with regular breast shape?

I agree with you @itwaseverthus. I'm a 32G and am amazed by the variety of bras in my size with padding. I don't need any extra thanks!

Talklessmilemore · 07/09/2020 14:28

For anyone in the Midlands there is an amazing factory shop in Desborough northants that always had some incredible bras in large cup sizes for super low prices. All top end like Wacoal, Fantasie etc. May not help you OP but just in case it helps someone!

Amortentia · 07/09/2020 14:31

Me too, can't stand moulded cups. I do like the Debenhams own rang in a balconette Style (that how you spell it?😂) it's the most flattering if you've got a small back and don't want your bussoms hoicked up under your chin. I accidentally bought a minimiser recently and thought I would be suffocated. 😆

purpleme12 · 07/09/2020 14:35

@MulticolourMophead a bra fitter said that to me before, thatb people find that balconette straps fall down. Thing is I only get balconette bras because I wear low cut tops a fair bit. And I want to be able to wear my low cut tops if I want to. I can't do that with full cups. But maybe the straps would be better

JenniferSantoro · 07/09/2020 14:40

It’s not unusual at all but you’ll not find it at the likes of Sainsbury’s or Tesco. You also won’t get one for under about 30 or 40 quid. Fantasie do nice bras for bigger cup sizes. Also keep an eye on the sale at next. They always have bigger cup/small back sizes in the sale.

KatharinaRosalie · 07/09/2020 14:44

I like moulded and padded, gives better shape and support to post-baby boobs.

BoB is not exact science, just a starting point. They are right though that most women who have an underbust of say 31 inches would not find a 36 inch bra that M&S would sell you, a good fit.

CleanQueen123 · 07/09/2020 14:46

I'm 32GG and I'm distinctly average in body weight and shape! I get my bras from Pour Moi, BraStop and Bravissimo (when they have a sale).

All of them do free returns. It is more expensive than being able to go to Primark or the supermarket but I feel and look so much better for wearing the right size bra.

CSIblonde · 07/09/2020 14:51

My oldest friend is 34FF so not far off that. She's 5ft, with a tiny back & shoulders but is very booby. Way back when we were impressed Wonderbra did a bra her size . Obvs she didn't need the removable pads!

Ritascornershop · 07/09/2020 14:59

I surprised you didn’t think your boobs were big. I’m a 34F and have spent the last 40 years with men and women goggling at my boobs and talking about how big they are. I would love to be flat chested.

Bras that fit women like us are on the pricey side but you only need a few and they last years.

ChanklyBore · 07/09/2020 15:01

“It’s not unusual at all but you’ll not find it at the likes of Sainsbury’s or Tesco. You also won’t get one for under about 30 or 40 quid”

Sainsburys sell a full cup bra in 32G for £8.

Has she been fitted recently or still wearing the same bra as way back then? Because on a 5ft woman, I would not describe 34 back as tiny. I'm 30 back and not tiny in any way.

haba · 07/09/2020 15:02

I'm 30FF, and I buy from ebay- brand new with tags, but last season's colours, good brands such as Fantasie Side Support or Freya.
Excellent quality, but usually a quarter of the full retail price. There are several lingerie stores on there doing heavily reduced BNWT high quality bras.

EveryThingWillBeWorthIt · 07/09/2020 15:03

I'm a 28G/FF depending on style so no not odd at all!

MulticolourMophead · 07/09/2020 15:10

Would a plunge style work?

My other problem is one side is definitely bigger than the other. In an ideal world, I'd have the money for a small reduction on that side, which would certainly help with getting clothes to fit better.

purpleme12 · 07/09/2020 15:18

I tried a plunge style once and a fitter said it was ok.
But not long after it was clear it wasn't. My boobs just didn't fit into it they were popping out too much, no support. After that I've never got one. It put me off

Londonmummy66 · 07/09/2020 15:19

Like lots of other PPs brastop is my go to. They have a lot of bras in your size and they start at £10. You can buy from the more expensive brands like Freya and Fantasie for between £16-20 on there in your size.
