One of my closest friends said to me this morning that finding a man without children in your 40s is like finding the holy grail of relationship goals.

I was telling her about little things that niggle me about DP (who is wonderful to be fair) and she said that I’m lucky I’ve found a man with no DC and that i need to make it work because I’ve found the holy grain Hmm

Is she right?

YANBU - finding a man with no DC is the holy grail.

YABU - who cares if he has children or not.

I used to always want to date men with kids as they would understand my limitations however all but one had the standard one weekend every fortnight thing so actually I don't think them being a dad on paper made them any different to others without kids.

I'm currently dating someone wonderful who doesn't have kids, in his mid 40s but wants them. He's warm and loving with me though it's early days, and certainly the loveliest man I've met in a while. Do I bin him off because he hasn't got kids? My ex is not a present father despite having many children but does well dating because on paper he has kids and is perceived as a proud dad (though estranged from most of them). I guess I'm saying kindness is the holy grail really, not the fact that you have had kids.
