Ms Krug, a Jewish woman form Kansa purported to be a Black woman and was a Professor of AfricanAmerica Hostory at George Washington University . Teaching classes and supervision grad and undergrad students in African American History

She was also an activist who posted and participated in rallies and events as Jessica La Bombalera. Demonstrating against the gentrification of East Harlem, proclaiming it to be her neighbourhood

Essentially she has gaslight, lied and assumed an identity that is not hers. In doing so,other candidates were denied opportunities, remuneration. She has assumed an identity and heritage that was not hers to assume

Exposed by a student who had the courage to confide in other teaching staff

@Aridane

It is literally not a jot different from a man with a massive penis competing in women's sport

Why would a transwoman have a MASSIVE penis?

Because relatively, a male’s penis is massive compared to the non-existent penises on the women that male wants to plays sport with and against. I’m sure that poster wasn’t implying that all trans women are well endowed, but in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
ChainVaper · 06/09/2020 09:30

The hideous thing about it is that she claimed a whole backstory of her struggle growing up as a black woman and gained praise and help from organisations that are there to support the black community. She accepted the support and praise and has been very vocal indeed about her struggles as a woman of colour which was all bullshit. She has made the colleagues and friends that supported her and loved her question if anything she ever expressed was real which is absolutely gutting and disappointing for them.

Grannyspecsandslippers · 06/09/2020 09:40

Cannot imagine what it would have been to work beside her all those years to discover it was all lies. They must feel so let down, and like absolute mugs.

NotBadConsidering · 06/09/2020 09:56

Her mistake was to try and do it alone. She needed to get a lobby group or support organisation behind her like the NAACP, or the ACLU behind her to legitimise her campaign. These people need to work on institutional capture if they want to be successful with pulling this off in the future.

Grannyspecsandslippers · 06/09/2020 09:58

The NAACP aren’t going to help white people get ahead by pretending to be black.

Aridane · 06/09/2020 09:59

Claiming to be part of an oppressed group has along history - eg scandals around pretend holocaust survivors or those of 9/11

NotBadConsidering · 06/09/2020 10:04

@Grannyspecsandslippers

The NAACP aren’t going to help white people get ahead by pretending to be black.
Why not? Stranger things have happened. We have LGB organisations helping straight white males get ahead in front of women [shrug]. Throw enough money their way and who knows.

@Aridane

Ah, *@Grannyspecsandslippers* - so now you’re a troll because you don’t find drag offensive or subscribe to the (anti) trans rhetoric Wink
No. Because they make ridiculous statements and when asked simple questions to clarify totally ignore them.
Grannyspecsandslippers · 06/09/2020 10:28

‘ Why not? ‘

Well, I think I can see why not but I’m sure if you drop them a line they would be able to give you a yes or a no and reasons...

Grannyspecsandslippers · 06/09/2020 10:30

‘Ah, @Grannyspecsandslippers - so now you’re a troll because you don’t find drag offensive or subscribe to the (anti) trans rhetoric’

Thanks, I’m trying to avoid being trolled by the anti trans mob on a thread about a white woman passing herself off as a black woman for personal gain, while lying to all those around her. I actually think that talking about this should be enough for one thread, and if I were black myself I would probably be p’d off by the hijackers turning it into something else.

Oliversmumsarmy · 06/09/2020 10:33

but o supposed rather than having MH issues she could just be incredibly
Manipulative and calculating and thought that was the best way to get ahead in her field

Then you have to reason why she thought it necessary for her to change her background if she thought it took her to be black to get the job.

Presumably she went to an interview and was the best candidate. (Otherwise she wouldn’t have got the job in the first place)

What if she had gone as a white woman? Would she still have got the job?
If the answer was no then isn’t that doing a disservice to the students and in some way racist that a university would rather go for anyone other than the best because of the colour of someone’s skin.

Sexnotgender · 06/09/2020 10:37

I’m absolutely disgusted with the blatant transphobia on this thread.

If Jessica identifies as a black woman then that’s what she is. White women are black women. WWABW!!

It must have been a massive struggle for her to come out and I personally think she’s stunning and brave.

Yawn

“Best” person for the job! Someone needs to take a refresher course in critical race theory!

‘ Why not? ‘

Well, I think I can see why not but I’m sure if you drop them a line they would be able to give you a yes or a no and reasons...

I imagine at the beginning when a straight white male asked Stonewall to back them up in their campaign to be recognised as a lesbian, they were were given a yes and a no and reasons, then slowly, over time, the drip, drip, drip of it changed the organisation. That’s how institutional capture works.

So I think all of these transracial people need to look at how those straight white males have pulled it off. Read the Dentons report. Take their time. In years to come people will have forgotten the case of Krug and how batshit it was and transracial people will be celebrated as part of Black History Month. That’s how it works it seems.

Pertella · 06/09/2020 11:00

As I said before, once white men figure out how to use the concept of "transracial" to promote their own self interest, it will become acceptable for these men to trample all over actual black people.

Like that Butterworth guy who self identified as a POC to get a place at a BAME conference.

Pertella · 06/09/2020 11:06

How stunning and brave 🤩

Pertella · 06/09/2020 11:21

Actually, no. Its offensive and oppressive.

Misrepresenting yourself, regardless of what form that takes, in order to take opportunities from another group is abhorrent.

Of course it is.
Onestepup · 06/09/2020 12:08

No-one is being 'anti trans' here. Pro women's rights, yes absolutely. Anti self-ID, yes.

NotBadConsidering · 06/09/2020 12:27

Initially Butterworth identified as Jewish, but when that didn’t make him eligible he identified as black (see screenshots):

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3209406-this-is-just-i-have-no-words

Does anyone remember the Guardian article condemning Butterworth’s actions? No, me neither Hmm

Wannakisstheteacher · 06/09/2020 12:30

So hang on. I've seen comments about how she didn't even look black. We'll tbh vanishingly small numbers of Transwomen ever look anything other than Transwomen. Either it is all about how you feel, and therefore it doesn't matter if you are clearly not black, because you feel black. Or we are saying you cannot be black because you don't look black. But then why aren't we saying a person with a penis isn't a woman because a woman doest have a penis? Why are we being over backwards to pretend we can't see the difference between a Transwomen and a woman, but not with ethnicity?
