AIBU to think Lauren Goodger needs help and filters are dangerous

As above, there have been new pics of LG today looking different, possibly new surgery or possibly backgrid have gone too far with their tweeks. I'm not interested in her life before anyone starts that and she can have as much surgery as she likes as long as she can mentally cope with it.

..and thats where my AIBU sits. Do you think girls like LG are promoting unacceptable physical attainment by constantly filtering and messing with their pics? I'm really wary of filters and not because I don't need them (see username) but because I think they mess with your head.

I think she must have mental health issues. The constant comparison to michelle Keegan when her and mark split would have drove anyone mad.
I read the other day that her mother abandoned her at 4 years old.

I think deep down she is sad and wants to be accepted but in the process she is mutilating her once pretty features.

She deffo needs help, at least to address the mother situation because I think this is where most of her issues will stem from.

I don’t know who she is (I live overseas) but a quick google does show that she has gone way overboard with fillers. It becomes a mask at that point, and yes, people who tinker too much have body dysmorphic issues.

The filters are popular, most people use them. I do agree it is damaging for young people growing up these days.

Too much fakery around.
Real attributes like kindness, honesty and respect should be what people strive to possess.

I'm sure I saw she had heavily edited childhood photos of her and her father, they were really noticeably different, almost a different little girl. Some serious issues there to think you need to make your childhood images look different!

Never mind filters they won't permanently affect her it is the facial changes that is messing her up.

Definitely got issues. Her pics are so altered it’s unbelievable. I read she said the other day she’s NC with all her family, makes you wonder who’s supporting her.

I’m sure the impending towie 10yr specials will do nothing to help her mental health either, showing her relationship with mark and then no doubt the Michelle comparisons will start again!

True but they might permanently mentally damage a young adult who is conscious of their looks and sees LGs photos as being 'normal' attractive

I didn't know who she is, but looking at the pictures she's had a ridiculous amount of work done. Makes me question who is doing the work? There's a fine line between allowing people free will to do what they want with their bodies, and knowingly feeding a very unhealthy compulsion.

The industry needs far greater regulation, and that includes considering whether the psychological reasons for having procedures are rational and healthy.

I think we'll have quiet a few Jackie Stallone look alikes in the future.

I feel sad for Lauren Goodger. She used to be really pretty and has completely wrecked her face imho, and I've always thought it must be down to all the hate she gets online.

The pictures highloght her legs but her face is also filtered. She looks so much nicer in the before picture. The face changes seem to add stress!!

She is a young lady who needs serious psychiatric help... To think she needed to alter a photo of her as a child. Also read that she compares herself to Kim Kardashian... Like that's a good thing!! 🙈 🙈 🙈

She's definitely got severe body dysmorphia. She was beautiful before all the surgery

LG has very serious and deep mental health issues. She actually photoshopped a picture of her as a child and her father. I mean... what 😰

I like a filter but I've never used Facetune or photoshop or stupid filters that alter the shape of your face and eyes. It's just not real life!

Why respond like that? I asked a question, not be chastised for my Internet engagement. I am on insta etc a healthy amount, I just thought the question I posed might create an interesting debate.

Looking at that link upthread, Khloe Kardashian looks so much better in the natural pic than the altered one! Although so many celebs are having surgery now, even Michelle Keegan no longer has the same face.

It's very sad. She looks so much worse. And she filters her photos so heavily.

Not as bad as that other Chloe person, she looks like a thunderbird now.
