AIBU to think Lauren Goodger needs help and filters are dangerous

As above, there have been new pics of LG today looking different, possibly new surgery or possibly backgrid have gone too far with their tweeks. I'm not interested in her life before anyone starts that and she can have as much surgery as she likes as long as she can mentally cope with it.

..and thats where my AIBU sits. Do you think girls like LG are promoting unacceptable physical attainment by constantly filtering and messing with their pics? I'm really wary of filters and not because I don't need them (see username) but because I think they mess with your head.

Lauren Goodger.... I have thought the same for several years. She was stunning before all the work she had done. I would not say Michelle Keegan was that much more attractive than her to be honest I just think they both look different to each other.

Don't know who she is but read this and thought isn't it ironic re: your username? I think this is part of the problem. You may not realise it but there are others who will see your username and it adds to how they've been made to feel about themselves. Do you think you're inadvertently promoting low self esteem/worth?

Don't you think this person you're complaining about feels the same way or similar and has just done something about it because she can? Do you think you would if you were in her shoes?

I mean look at how you refer to yourself - what makes you worthless? I can see why you're drawn to this person but please take care of your (mental and physical) health first. Hopefully, she can do the same.

@Hullo I am not part of the problem. I am feeling low and that was what I wanted as my username, it wasn't my contribution to the debate, and reducing it so and making me feel as though I've been chastised doesn't help.

I feel very sad for LG, she seems so desperate for a happy life but just attracts losers and people who are with her for the wrong reasons. I don’t see her situation ending well

Newbie1999 · 04/09/2020 20:38

The photo where she’s heavily edited the way she looked as a child is really sad. She needs to get rid of social media.

pollylocketpickedapocket · 04/09/2020 20:52

@Elderflower14

She is a young lady who needs serious psychiatric help... To think she needed to alter a photo of her as a child. Also read that she compares herself to Kim Kardashian... Like that's a good thing!! 🙈 🙈 🙈 She has said recently that since she found "fame" she doesn't see her family!
Sounds like she's better off without her "family"
pollylocketpickedapocket · 04/09/2020 20:56

I just looked at an issue of ok magazine that featured her "mother" just before she did cbb
No wonder she distances herself

pollylocketpickedapocket · 04/09/2020 20:57

@Ginfordinner

MaskingForIt I think the point the OP is trying to make is the image LG projects to young girls who think that having normal size lips and boobs is inadequate.

I don't care what LG is doing to herself, but I do care that thousands of teenage girls feel inadequate because people like her have a lot of artificial enhancements and portray this as normal.

I agree about the image portrayed to impressionable young women but this girl is clearly not happy, it's sad
pollylocketpickedapocket · 04/09/2020 21:01

@kursaalflyer

Just looked at some pictures of Michelle Keegan and no idea why she would want to tamper with her natural look. In some photos her lips look dreadful with that tell-tale shadow on the upper lip. Who pressures these women? Who undermines their self-esteem? Again, very sad.
I read an interview with Michelle Keegan years ago when she was natural, and she said if her boyfriend wasn't giving her attention she would start to hyperventilate, Says it all
RealBecca · 04/09/2020 21:12

I dont think they promote anything. I think some people genuinely like and aspire to look like that. But for most i sadly thinknots a manifestation of poor mental health and low self esteem.

Mydarlingsleepthief · 05/09/2020 20:23

It must be so hard seeing yourself via a filter as you wish you looked, then getting papped and torn to shreds over your looks in reality
