I had just about forgiven them for the lockdown catastrophe where I couldn’t get a delivery for months despite being a long time smart pass holder, delivery every week or 2, usually a reasonable amount etc etc.

They have cancelled my fecking order 2 hours before delivery because of a ‘surge’ in demand. I want my Colin fgs!!

Lougle I think the system knows how much is left after someone adds it to their order, so knows when to restock the item and that allows it to work fairly seamlessly usually but with new products they have no base knowledge of how quickly the M&S stuff will sell so a huge number of people adding item X the day before may take it out of stock when usually their algorithm would know to replenish at a certain point.

Not sure if that is right or made sense but that's my take on it.

TeaOneSugar · 01/09/2020 22:45

I had a delivery today, arrived a bit early but no subs.

nearlyoldenough · 01/09/2020 22:46

I had 18 missing items on Sunday
Bog standard things like milk, chicken, eggs, butter.
Purposely hadn’t ordered any waitrose items.
Weird thing was I couldn’t be bothered to phone to complain but they called me a few hours later to offer to come back out , with the products that had supposedly been out of stock ?

Tanith · 01/09/2020 22:54

My order came this evening. No problems and on time.

Last week the driver told me the order before us had 96

And while I’m moaning, the really annoying thing is that the customer service person, who called me on my mobile, wouldn’t talk to me because the account is in my husbands name. It isn’t, it’s in both our names, and only because my original account was hacked , Ocado’s fault, and they suggested that for the new account.

nearlyoldenough · 01/09/2020 22:59

96 ! How much had they ordered .
Mine was about a quarter of the total .
They must have been happy 😃

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/09/2020 22:59

I'm really disappointed that M&S are now not allowing you to collect your food to order in store and have to have an Ocado delivery.

Thankfully at the moment they are saying that the Christmas food to order will still be available to collect in store.

Can you imagine the shitshow of Ocado trying to deliver all those Christmas orders?

StrawberrySquash · 01/09/2020 23:02

They cancelled on me last week with half an hour's notice. Called the call centre (and they picked up straight away Smile). They gave me £15 off and booked it for two days later. But stuff that had gone out of stock between deliveries then just dropped out of the basket with no mention. So a bit of a mixed bag really. Lucky it wasn't that urgent a set of things being delivered!

Whyisitsodifficult · 01/09/2020 23:06

Can’t even get a bloody slot until next week, why pay for a smart pass? I could forgive them during the pandemic but lately the slots have been easy to get then-bam hardly any!

PickAChew · 01/09/2020 23:07

@DrinkFeckArseGirls

Is that a typo on BBC News or is it what the value range is called: Remarksable Value?!
No, they launched that in store about 6 months ago and it made me cringe even then.

Apparently he handed over a small bag. They were sticking up On Ocado stuff Before the change
Whyisitsodifficult · 01/09/2020 23:16

And when will they take their bags back?

BentBastard · 01/09/2020 23:26

@Whyisitsodifficult

And when will they take their bags back?

22nd September. As many as you can fit in a single bag.

thesedaysarescary · 01/09/2020 23:28

I had similar from Asda last week the confirmed my order was out for delivery never turned up multiple calls to customers services just to be lied to over and over again that it would be with me between this time and that time. Then eventually told it wasn't coming. I still haven't had my refund and it hadn't even been raised till I tweeted them. The lies from the customer service agents is shocking.

Polnm · 01/09/2020 23:28

I had over 500
I took them to the tip

Yep, to me it’s no different to using the app.

Xiaoxiong · 02/09/2020 09:21

Well my delivery was fine yesterday, a bit early and nothing missing and no subs. So probably this is just a temporary wobble with one distribution centre or something. Have deliveries scheduled for the next 2 Tuesdays, also look fine with almost everything appearing in stock on the website.

stopringingme · 02/09/2020 09:37

Countdown to my delivery between 12 and 1pm.

Wish me luck - my ReMarksable delivery is now in the hands of Joanna in the Onion Van !

The one thing I really wanted is out of stock - but DH has to go to Waitrose later to pick up a John Lewis order so as M&S couldn't supply the item I will ask him to get it from there !

Everything else was available.

Cissyandflora · 02/09/2020 09:45

LTB. I did. After 14 years of high spending weekly (large family) Ocado dumped me when I needed him and now (predictably) wants me back. I can’t do it.

stopringingme · 02/09/2020 12:06

Update - Joanna in the onion van rang me at 11.20am asking if I wanted an earlier delivery, I said yes please !

She then pulls up in the apple van at 11.35am.with delivery present and correct.

JacobReesMogadishu · 02/09/2020 12:14

Did you point out she was in the wrong van?

Bet she wasn't even called Joanna! :)

dameofdilemma · 02/09/2020 12:15

We’re thinking of switching to Waitrose too. Most of the food we regularly order is no longer available on Ocado and M&S is not great value (do they think noone notices smaller sizes for a higher price Hmm

Ocado execs were bragging in the press that Waitrose could never compete with them. Ocado have taken advantage of Covid reliance on online deliveries to maximise profit.

Blueberrycreampie · 02/09/2020 12:41

Had a delivery on Sunday. Many Waitrose items oos seems fair as running down. All M&S items also oos - again I understand why, as not 'live' yet. Order delivered without issue apart from double cream. I would have expected a sub for that on. Delivery on time and driver very chatty/ happy! First Ocado delivery for months though- and only cos it was free. Usually go with Waitrose.

Yellowbutterfly1 · 02/09/2020 13:16

Thankfully my order came this morning on time and no subs.
