I had just about forgiven them for the lockdown catastrophe where I couldn’t get a delivery for months despite being a long time smart pass holder, delivery every week or 2, usually a reasonable amount etc etc.

They have cancelled my fecking order 2 hours before delivery because of a ‘surge’ in demand. I want my Colin fgs!!

I’m getting a bit annoyed with them too. Loads of basic stuff liked tinned tomatoes out of stock for weeks and weeks unless I want to pay £2 for one can. There was so much stuff out of stock when I tried to do the last shop I had to have a separate list and do another shop in the local Tesco. Which rather negates the point of getting it delivered. I’ve given them a couple of weeks grace to see if the switchover to M&S goes smoothly, but they were so useless in lockdown they’re already on thin ice.

They still haven’t switched the app back on for me, and there are no delivery slots until next week, so it’s not looking good.

FreeButtonBee · 01/09/2020 16:03

Oh mine this morning was pretty much fine. It was a smaller shop than perhaps other times as kids back to school so don’t have to feed them constantly but only two sensible subs. One was a flash sale item so not surprising that it was oos by the time my order was prepped.

I've noticed lots of basics out of stock lately too. Someone on Twitter said there's no cheese - of any type - available for their order!
Jjou · 01/09/2020 16:08

It’s ridiculous - no peppers, lardons/pancetta, cheese, apple juice etc. Just normal things. And their pasta stocks have never recovered since the Great Pasta Stampede of early lockdown. Grr.

Queenoftheashes · 01/09/2020 16:09

Christ it’s front page bbc news now!
Beginning of the end for them...

MarshaBradyo · 01/09/2020 16:10

I couldn’t shop the minimum spend to bother with a delivery as all usual stuff out if stock. Which is crazy as I usually spend a fair bit.

That is bonkers.

I don’t understand where they’ve gone so wrong. It’s not like they’re new to the delivery market, they should have had contingencies in place, especially after the disaster that was covid.

We shop Morrisons through Amazon, and have been told on a few occasions that we've to call customer services to rearrange.

We ordered for between 9-11pm yesterday and it came at 12.10 this morning!

The irony is we live 10 minutes down the A road, so it's not even like we're that far away.

Was actually considering going to ocado but every day there's a post here about how crap they are.

Thesearmsofmine · 01/09/2020 16:37

It sounds like they have messed up hugely. Really hoping my shopping comes on Friday. I looked on nthwir website earlier today and noticed that I could still order Waitrose items which is odd.

TweetUsOnFacebook · 01/09/2020 16:40

No problems at all with Ocado for me today. I'm in the SE.

DysonDiva · 01/09/2020 16:41

The Ocado customer service team working on Twitter are having to deal with a multitude of understandably very unhappy customers
Where is senior management? This is what annoys customers so much, not just being let down at the last minute.
Tthe Twitter team are pretty much copy and pasting 'surge in demand' replies because that's all they have.

Someone very senior should have made a statement by now. Explain exactly why customers who placed an order 3 weeks ago had it cancelled late on BH Monday evening, and also explain to the rest of us WTF is going on with stock levels!
Interested to see what happens to tomorrow's deliveries and would like to know if it's just one area or is across their depots.

Lilybet1980 · 01/09/2020 16:43

I gave up on Ocado about 18 months ago after too many deliveries failed to show up with no warning. Their customer service has always been shite.

MarshaBradyo · 01/09/2020 16:44

Very small thing alert. I feel a bit funny about Percy pig vans. I know they look good and cheery but it was all fruit and vegetables before.

Chickenitalia · 01/09/2020 16:49

Oh no, feel for you op.
I’ve got a big order due tomorrow morning that was placed weeks ago and updated on Sunday.
I did think there were a lot of unavailable lines (not just waitrose obvs) as I was ordering.
Last week was 30 mins late which is unheard of from my experience.
They had been brilliant for me during lockdown once the first few weeks had passed, so I hope this is just a temporary glitch.
Doesn’t bode well though. I hate food shopping in stores and the other suppliers just don’t seem to manage it well here at all.

Xiaoxiong · 01/09/2020 16:49

Eeek...I've got an order coming at 7pm tonight (ordered fine, everything in stock). They confirmed by text nothing missing and no substitutions - now I'm worried it might not turn up!

I've tried all the other online companies and they all have their issues, so I always seem to come back to Ocado. They've always been great for us bar the few weeks at the beginning of lockdown when all the supermarkets keeled over.

From what I've seen on Twitter, the people who had their order cancelled were notified by email and/or text. So if yours says all ok, you should be fine. Fingers crossed for you!
LadyLindaT · 01/09/2020 17:02

This is why I gave up on them. They had one job!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 01/09/2020 17:03

Best Twitter comment
This is not just any massive screw up, this is an M and S screw up.....

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 01/09/2020 17:05

Also noticed on Twitter Waitrose popping up to tell Ocado customers, who tweeting they’ve had their delivery cancelled, to order from them and they’ll get it sorted, Shock

Iceland did that, not seen the Waitrose one.

RedRiverShore · 01/09/2020 17:51

Crikey, I was going to do an Ocado order for M&S stuff, I get Tesco delivery anyway and they have been excellent so definitely won't be defecting to Ocado. I shan't bother now, its too unreliable. I noticed that they don't do my Isey Skyr baked apple yogurt so that put me off as I have only seen it in our M&S so would go to shop anyway so may as well just get the M&S food then. Sounds like a disaster

Polnm · 01/09/2020 18:02

Ocado are fighting back

Dear , we're very sorry today's order had several missing products. We know this is frustrating and we're really sorry that we let you down. To say sorry, here's a voucher VOU1234567 for £15 to make it up to you.

Ultimatecougar · 01/09/2020 18:09

I've given up on ocado after not getting any slots with them during lockdown. Iceland have been very good and delivery is free on orders over 35 pounds I think.

Ok they don't have all the posh stuff Ocado supply, but you can get British meat and chicken as long as you select carefully, plus their fruit and veg I've found to be great.

They deliver from a local store though, rather than a warehouse, so I guess it depends on the store how good they are.

2020notQuiteAsPlanned · 01/09/2020 18:16

I got one yesterday - thought there might be lots missing if running waitrose stock down but it was fine - 1 thing missing and one reasonable substitution.
🤞it sorts itself out though as i also has mad experiences with them during lockdown!

BlackberrySky · 01/09/2020 18:23

I have to say, Ocado have been very good to me during lockdown - no problem getting slots and been back on the app for a while now. I am, however, struggling to understand why they are cancelling so many orders due to this supposed "surge in demand". Surely they only release as many slots as they can fulfill? It seems really off and incredibly annoying for customers.
