I had just about forgiven them for the lockdown catastrophe where I couldn’t get a delivery for months despite being a long time smart pass holder, delivery every week or 2, usually a reasonable amount etc etc.

They have cancelled my fecking order 2 hours before delivery because of a ‘surge’ in demand. I want my Colin fgs!!

Is that a typo on BBC News or is it what the value range is called: Remarksable Value?!

It is called that. I did a double-take - but, yes.
MarshaBradyo · 01/09/2020 18:28

Ha an agency for paid a lot for that I bet

TeddyIsaHe · 01/09/2020 18:31

@BlackberrySky I could have got over the lockdown shenanigans, because it was unprecedented (although Tesco never seemed to have a problem!) but this has been in planning for years fgs, it’s not likes it’s been sprung on them!

Thanks, Berties. Seriously... that’s really unremarksable.

NewYearNewTwatName · 01/09/2020 18:32

I'd be frustrated too if I were you, new customers don't seem to have problem.

as unbeknown to me DH ordered a load of his favourite snack that everywhere else don't sell anymore. Apparently he registered and ordered it on Friday and they delivered yesterday, bang on time. delivery fee £3.00.

Alpacinoseyes · 01/09/2020 18:40

I've always found them brilliant, on the odd occasions they let me down, I've had vouchers from them.

I'd expect some teething issues whilst they transfer over.
I've got a shop coming tomorrow! Will let you know how it goes!

Alpacinoseyes · 01/09/2020 18:41

Also aside from the first few weeks, I managed to get slots with them no problem.

InescapableDeath · 01/09/2020 18:41

I bet they had bigger orders than usual this week due to new partnership, so it took longer to fulfil and pack them which is why some have been cancelled. I’ll be miffed if it happens to us this week but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was an issue this week then calms down.

Lougle · 01/09/2020 18:50

My Dad shops Ocado. Today, in his quiet cul-de-sac, 2 vans arrived in the space of 10 minutes. How could they not arrange the deliveries so that both were on the same van?

I think M&S prices are extortionate and people won't realise they are using 'introductory' prices to soften the blow. I picked up some double cream for my Dad yesterday - £2.30. 'Oh, it's only £1.80 on the app....' Yep, that's the 50p discount they've had to give to make them seem cheaper than Tesco, et al.

I was in buying school trousers today (fail) and I thought I'd pick up something quick for lunch. 'Best ever sausage rolls' - £4 for two sausage rolls that are about half the size of a normal sausage roll!!!

Polnm · 01/09/2020 19:06

I had that last week. I went for the green van option and the 2 drivers were shouting at each other across the road, bonkers

Mountainpika · 01/09/2020 19:12

@WildfirePonie

Have you tried Sainsbury deliveries? They have never let me down and i've been using them for years.
Same here. No problems. Identified us as over 70s very quickly. Don't have a weekly shop - every 2-3 weeks.
Xiaoxiong · 01/09/2020 19:16

Well my ocado driver just rang to see if I wanted my delivery 45 mins early, no problem if not - yes please!

I'm in the SE though so maybe it's only one of their distribution centres having issues. Seems ok round here.

ToastyCrumpet · 01/09/2020 19:20

My Ocado delivery two weeks ago was half an hour late. The driver apologised. I shrugged and said ‘these things happen.’

These things happen.

BentBastard · 01/09/2020 19:26

I hope this big Percy pug giveaway doesn't mean the ones I ordered weeks ago end up being out of stock and missing SadGrin

GreekYogurtWalnuts · 01/09/2020 19:36

I live in Kent and received my order today no problem!!!

Cassilis · 01/09/2020 19:39

I've never done an online shop, I feel very left out!

Chloemol · 01/09/2020 20:01

I don’t understand why yours is an issue. I had my weekly order today, no issues, and I can book slots for a few days time, perhaps it depends what warehouse is being used

Isol · 01/09/2020 20:08

I ended up doing an Ocado shop and in person Waitrose shop due to the amount of things I couldn’t get. Felt very pointless.

I’ve only just forgiven them and gone back after the Covid fiasco... not good!

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/09/2020 20:09

They have been so shit through all this! I’ve dumped them and gone with Sainsbury’s.

Alwaysinpain · 01/09/2020 20:17

@AgnesCastors

Hmm weird. I had a big delivery yesterday £400 (odd) and a small delivery today just for M&S goodies), no problems with either. I’m SE too...
Whooooa! £400?! Do you have a large family?! I think that's the biggest I've ever heard of! (in this country anyway, Groceries cost a fortune in the US!)
PrincessZog · 01/09/2020 20:21

I still can't even log onto the app. Fuck 'em. Tesco didn't let me down once during the pandemic so I'll be sticking with them.

(I know some people on here think there's no difference between using the app and the website but if you've just noticed you need more eggs or whatever it's much easier to whip out your phone and add it on the app rather than shuffle off to another room, boot up the computer, forget what I'm there for and spend 20 mins faffing around on Facebook instead).

Delivery booked for Friday as usual.

It's the 1st of Sept and they are already OUT OF STOCK of all the essential M&S stuff which they emailed me to tell me how wonderful it was they had managed to replace all my usual Waitrose stuff with even better M&S stuff.

Why haven't you got any then?????

Lougle · 01/09/2020 22:39

What I could never understand about Ocado, is that it all comes from a warehouse. Presumably they have stock levels. My Dad places an order - all in stock. Then he gets his order 'X items are out of stock.' Surely at the time he places the order, he is reserving those items? I understand if Tesco, for example, are OOS, because the pickers are just picking from the shop shelves. But from the warehouse that surely shouldn't happen.
