how old were you when you had your children

I had ds1 at 21 ds2 24 ds3 at 28. Did you feel too old or too young? Or was the age just right for you. I feel that it would have been better for me if I had had my first at 28.

28 32 36. I think 28 was too young. I should have gone for 32 36 and 39. I regret not just enjoying child free life for a bit longer but it’s only a tiny regret

midwifeync · 24/08/2020 22:07

Interesting. Was planning to start trying for my first DC in the new year, but something has changed and I now won't be able to start ttc for another 4 years minimum. This will mean I will be 28/29. It's really reassuring to read your OP, although of course it is a very personal opinion to you and your circs.

30 & 32. Just the right ages for me and our circumstances.

AriesTheRam · 24/08/2020 22:09

33

eeyore228 · 24/08/2020 22:09

I was 28 and then 30, I am happy with my age for both. I had some life experience that I think really helped me and still young enough I didn’t and don’t mind messing around and not being exhausted after. I had my time of getting drunk etc and was happy settling down.

Isadora2007 · 24/08/2020 22:09

19, 22, 31 and 34.
I wish I’d had mine closer together- but difficult as two marriages!
No such thing as a right age I don’t think... in many ways I was a better mum as a young mum than in my 30s

tigerbear · 24/08/2020 22:09

34, and I think I was about the right age, but it took me four years to get pregnant.
I’m 43 now, no plans for another.

Too old. I’d have had them younger if I could go back.

SqidgeBum · 24/08/2020 22:10

DD1 27
DD2 due November, 29.

I feel it was the best decision age wise for me, although many think I was too young.

formerbabe · 24/08/2020 22:10

26 and 28

Felt very young in my social circle...

Pros...I had heaps of energy looking back. Both my dc will become adults whilst I'm in my forties so hopefully will still be young enough to enjoy myself. My ds told me recently I look much younger than his friends mums Grin

Cons...I never established a career. I wish I'd had a few extra carefree years!

DramaAlpaca · 24/08/2020 22:11

29 DS1
30 DS2
33 DS3

That was exactly right for me.

missmouse101 · 24/08/2020 22:11

29 and 32.

RandomTree · 24/08/2020 22:11

31, 33, 35
I felt it was a good age. Old enough to have achieved enough in my career to make it easy to get back into the workplace after a few years out as a SAHM. Young enough to not really risk fertility problems.

ParkheadParadise · 24/08/2020 22:12

I had dd1 at 15
I had dd2 at 38
I was very young when I had dd1. When she was 23 grown-up and left home along came a surprise dd2 😀😀.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/08/2020 22:12

22 with my one and only. Not particularly young in my social circle but I wish I'd been more financially secure. I don't regret it though and I'm glad I had DS then as he motivated me to change my life.

funniestpersonyouknow · 24/08/2020 22:12

29 and 34 - definitely wish I'd had them younger and closer together!

Harrysmum2020 · 24/08/2020 22:13

Just one ds I had at 20 I’d allways felt so grown up until I gave birth to my son then all of a sudden realised how Young I was in an ideal world I would’ve been older but not really any regret. Smile

MrsJasonIsbell · 24/08/2020 22:14

20 DD1 now 22
31 DD2 now 11

Loved it both times but defo had more energy and less anxiety first time around!

elliejjtiny · 24/08/2020 22:14

24, 25, 28, 31, 32

In an ideal world I would have had them sooner but I had miscarriages so the first and 4th took longer to conceive than I would have liked. I was the eldest mum on the maternity ward with my youngest and the 3rd eldest of the mums in his class.

AliTheMinx · 24/08/2020 22:15

Just the one. I was 33. I think it was the right age for me and my circumstances.

alittlequinnie · 24/08/2020 22:15

Didn't feel young at the time but look back and can't beleive I had her so young... no regrets though! She's amazing!

I've got two grandchildren now - really nice to have LOTS of energy still with them - although when I'm out with them on my own everyone thinks I'm their Mum!

zeeba · 24/08/2020 22:15

5plus3 · 24/08/2020 22:16

DD1 & DS1 22
DD2 23
DS2 27
DD3 30

Only DD3 was planned but things happen. What's good for one person doesn't work for others

Spanglybangles · 24/08/2020 22:16

31 and 39 with a couple of losses in between. Wish they had been a bit closer together to be honest.
