I had ds1 at 21 ds2 24 ds3 at 28. Did you feel too old or too young? Or was the age just right for you. I feel that it would have been better for me if I had had my first at 28.

  1. I should've had another at 36 this year but I had a miscarriage in may.

So hopefully will still be 36 or 37 if we are lucky enough to have another.

I feel on paper it's too old but I dont feel old

Oly4 · 24/08/2020 22:20

35, 37 & 42. Wish I’d had them all on my early 30s but grateful anyway! My 20s were for career, travel and fun. They were great and I don’t regret them at all

Beachbodylonggone · 24/08/2020 22:20

I had dc in my teens, 20's, 30's and 40's!!
I experienced stares as a young dm and some criticism as a 40 +dm.
Never let anyone's opinions bother me.
I enjoyed being pregnancy and the whole caboodle whatever age!

Risotto4tea · 24/08/2020 22:21

25 31 33
Wish I had established a career before my first and was the first in my social circle to have kids. But dont regret it life it what it is and I'm happy with my lot

Yesterdayforgotten · 24/08/2020 22:24

31, 34 (I wish I'd had mine maybe 30, 33 so just a year or two younger) as this second time around I've found it a real struggle and especially having 2 babies in 3 years! I feel I've been through the mill. It's just as well I don't think we want a third baby as it would be exhausting and gives me chills just thinking about it! I have now just one in nappies at least and can look forward to this becoming easier as they get older!

Yesterdayforgotten · 24/08/2020 22:24

Forgot to mention we had them at the right age to suit our circumstances though so despite wanting them a couple years younger it wouldn't have been right.

makingbacon · 24/08/2020 22:25

29
30

Too young in my area. Have no mum friends my own age.

flojo73 · 24/08/2020 22:25

31, 34 and 36

Sometimes wish I'd had them when I was slightly younger, but I'd have missed out on a lot of my fun years if I had!

Justjoshin22 · 24/08/2020 22:26

30 and 33. No plans for any more. Perfect for us, felt I really enjoyed my 20s and ready to spend 30s running after toddlers and young children.

ArtichokeAardvark · 24/08/2020 22:27

29 and 31. Worked for me, although I'm only 32 now so time will tell!

nokidshere · 24/08/2020 22:28

DS1 when I was 39
DS2 when I was 41

But I started ttc when I was 23 and didn't get pregnant till then. I would have preferred them when I was younger but am grateful to have had them at all.

Gillian1980 · 24/08/2020 22:31

35 when dd was born and 39 When ds was born. About right I think as I’d got my career established, had some time with DH by ourselves and we were ok financially.

We’re now 40 & 44 and definitely don’t plan on any more.... amazing how much we’ve aged in the last 5 years!! 🤣

lauryloo · 24/08/2020 22:33

2 planned dc at 32 and 33 and a little bonus baby at 38.

Definitely feel too old with no 3

weegiemum · 24/08/2020 22:35

Dd1 -29
Ds- 31
Dd2 - 32

Times were great. I'm glad I wasn't any older.

MrsMop1964 · 24/08/2020 22:35

21,24 and almost 40. Last one was too late really (2nd marriage)- mid fifties with a teenager is fine but i'm not a 'young' middle aged person and I feel she notices it. Most(but not all) of her friends have younger parents and I know she enjoys hanging out with them at times. She says she never thinks about my age but sometimes I really feel there's a generation gap in a way there wasn't with her older half siblings. Also I'm much less energetic than I was with them.
I do think though that my feelings about this are coloured by the fact that my mum and dad were 20 and 21 when they had me. My grandma was 40 when I was born, so pretty much the same age as when I had my DD, That's why it feels too old to me when for some they are happy to have their first at that age. It's so personal depending on your life circumstances.

OnceUponATimeInHollywood · 24/08/2020 22:35

26 & 27. Perfect for me 😊

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 24/08/2020 22:40

25 & 33 by choice.

Idontbelieveit12 · 24/08/2020 22:41

19, 21 and 29. Perfect for me ❤️

Lillygolightly · 24/08/2020 22:42

DD1 - 23
DD2 - 28
DD3 - 36

Loved the age gap between DD1 & DD2, DD1 had just started reception a few months before DD2 came along. It meant I felt I had plenty 1 on 1 time with each of them, but they were still close enough in age to enjoy playing together.

DD3 was a surprise, has she been planned I would have preferred to have her around age 31/32 so she could have had a playmate. I also feel too old now to have another (38) plus DH would run for the hills screaming like a banshee at the thought of another.

In terms of age for me I probably would have liked more of my twenties for just being fun, carefree and career focussed. That being said I am very glad I had my children when I did as it’s all worked out really well.

Bunnybigears · 24/08/2020 22:44

23 and 26 im glad I had them when I did, I don't think I would have the energy for a toddler now.

MercuryRising · 24/08/2020 22:45

I was 25, 28, 35 and 38. I felt young with the first 2 and feel I have been a much calmer more relaxed parent with the last 2. But that could be due to experience rather than age.

Ploughingthrough · 24/08/2020 22:45

26 ( a month from 27) and 29. Dc1 was a bit of a surprise but in hindsight I'm really glad I had them youngish. I was early in my career so a bit of time out didnt make much difference and I've been able to make good progress since. Had plenty of energy for them and I will hopefully have some freedom by my mid 40s!

Tsubasa1 · 24/08/2020 22:47

25 and 28. In hindsight I feel I was too young and didn't know myself or what I wanted well enough -to give my children the best start in life.

polkadotpixie · 24/08/2020 22:48
  1. I'd have like to have been a year or two younger but it took us a while to concieve

Only really wish I'd been a bit younger as I would have had more time to have a bigger age gap

We're going to TTC again this year so I'll be 37 with DC2 if everything goes well

I'm glad to have waited til my 30s though, I wouldn't have coped in my 20s

Jemima4309 · 24/08/2020 22:48

29, 31, 32, 34, 36. Worked for me - was noted as a geriatric mother for my first, but I think the terminology changed after that!
