To think that most F1 racers seem to have won the genetic lottery?

Absolutely irrelevant topic but this has always been on my mind for no reason at all. I watch a lot of F1 races due to my family being very much into it and for some reason they all generally seem to be what you could consider 'good looking'.

I am sure there is no actual correlation between physical appearance and success as a F1 racer but it's something I noticed ages ago

Am I the only one that thinks so? I hope not 😂

Many will disagree but I truly believe that the majority of people are actually 'good looking', especially once a face becomes familiar. Good looks are enhanced by good hygiene, clean teeth, a decent diet, nice hair and a generally well groomed appearance, easy to achieve on their wages!

One of the most beautiful was Jules Bianchi, devastated we didn’t get to see him fulfil his potential.

Now he was beautiful, and yes a totally tragic loss (regardless of his appearance)

What yuck no! With the exception of maybe a handful - the rest just have health bank balances.

Actually Billy Monger looks like he could turn out to be VERY good looking - but way too young for me (I’m old enough to be his mum)

I love how cool he is!

He's so good at delivering commentary and so knowledgable.

As much as I would love to see him race I’d miss him as a commentator

The late, great, Ayrton Senna and Jacques Villeneuve are my personal favourites of the F1 world, looks wise.

In his heyday Nigel Mansell was so attractive a small badger decided to start living on his upper lip.

I don't know if anyone remembers Jaime Alguersuari (I haven't followed F1 in years so no idea whether he's still about etc.) but he had the loveliest blue eyes and teenage me was very much in love

We went to a grand prix a few years ago. Bottas was at the next table to us in a restaurant the evening of the race. Fans kept coming over and interrupting his meal, and he took time out for them, posed for photos, signed autographs etc. It wasn’t a promotional event, just a normal meal in a normal restaurant. It would have irritated most people, but he was so nice to everyone.

Oh that’s so lovely to hear about Bottas! My 2 DC love him (they both race around pretending to be him when the races are on!)

It's so good to see I'm definitely not the only one that has thought this. I have such a soft spot for F1 drivers, I know there a few that might be considered the exception to my theory but in general they all look dreamy!

Also as a massive fan of names, I can't help but think some of theirs are just overall really cool sounding. Max, Jules, Nico, Lando, Kimi, Mika, etc.

There have been some handsome ones over the years - Villeneuve, Irvine, tragic Bianchi but no one at the moment.

Love Lewis, amazing role model and trail blazer, aside from the talent.

Danny Ric, Carlos Sainz, Nico Hulkenberg - all gorgeous. Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso - not so much. Then again, there's something about a helmet and flameproof race suit that really does it for me! Oh and I bloody love the racing too.

Shocked though that anyone would find Lewis Hamilton attractive! And don’t get me started on his arrogance!

I think there is no doubt LH is an amazing driver with a world class talent you don't see very often.

Like a Mo Farah, Linford Christie, Jess Ennis -Hill etc.

But I just think he's a hypocrite and very robotic when doing his interviews and there's that 'something' that stops me finding him attractive.

I think personality is a much bigger attraction over looks and some of the drivers happen to have both in abundance.

It's great to see so many here have the Jenson Button love like I do! There's just something so endearing about him.

Interesting how so many of us have a thing for Toto Wolff. He's not classically attractive, but he's such a likeable man. Comes across as wise, thoughtful and very fair. I heard him talk about how important the culture was within the team, no blaming, learning from mistakes, shared responsibility. It was very impressive.
