Casually browsing market place and came across these "pamper baskets" for £12.50 each...

Tampons aren't my idea of a pamper, neither is toothpaste and deodorant! GrinGrin

Also there's a glass but no prosseco?

Anyone else got any goodies they'd like to share?

Not sure about other areas of the country but in the North West lots of people on my Facebook market pages are selling those sweet bags or boxes that look absolutely disgusting. Like they’ve been on the rob in Poundland and chucked it all into an old Dominos box. They take the pictures with the worst cameras possible usually on their fluffy rug or something. Gah! I gagged at the thought.

Also an old friend is clearly a professional shoplifter or has connections to one because there’s a constant stream of random appliances with ‘pm for prices xx’ on each one on her page 🙄

I know it’s free, but even so!

Don't have a photo.

I need to buy some clay roof tiles for a small reroofing project.

New, they work out about 55p each from the builders merchants. Second hand, more like 20p.

There's someone local to me who is selling some in "good" condition and she wants 80p each for them.

I don't fancy being the one to tell her she needs to drop her price by about 75%

Incredulous

Auniments has officially overtaken chester drawers in my marketplace comedy league table. Absolutely golden. A lot of the homemade tat actually makes me irrationally angry. I want them to stop making it let alone trying to sell it.

LittleBird74 · 10/08/2020 09:09

These ‘Luxury Desserts’ which are all photographed with a bizarre, completely irrelevant fox (garden?) ornament.
The fox isn’t just coincidentally sat by where the desserts are photographed, it’s actually been purposefully repositioned for every picture.

OMG those pens with the pictures of granny on. They remind me of the xmas decorations with Nanna on in the Royle family

GreyGardens88 · 10/08/2020 09:59

You'll need half an hour with a power washer just to start making a dent in all that grease
labazsisgoingmad · 10/08/2020 10:10

what a load of tat. that box i would never send to anyone id be too ashamed. tampons are a personal thing you choose yourself
nope ok trying to make a living but she/he needs to think again about the contents certainly nothing luxury or reassuring

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 10/08/2020 10:17

I actually think it's really cheeky asking for money for what is obviously shite from the back of the bathroom cupboard. I have lots of this crap on fb from friends, picnic baskets are the thing here, 25 quid for crap worth about a fiver, most of them are well off too. You feel guilt tripped into supporting them. Pisses me right off.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 10/08/2020 10:32

Are the treat/brownie boxes a new thing?

Having followed a couple of local bakeries/patisseries on Instagram I keep getting follow requests from box/brownie makers - I can only assume they trawl through the follower lists and send requests. Some of the prices are eye-watering; I saw one yesterday that was £17.99 plus postage for four slices of brownie and four cookies (and they looked like they were made in a primary school cooking class). I know you’ve got to factor in time/packaging costs etc but the markup on them must be huge. Even using really good quality ingredients I could make a similar quantity of brownies for a few quid.

Amateurs. I present this (probably should come with a trigger warning):

@OhhhPeee

When that pen runs out it’ll be like losing them all over again. The trauma!

🤣😂🤣👍🏻

BlueJag · 10/08/2020 11:01

Nothing says pamper like a tampons and pad. Feeling spoiled.

@VeryLittleOwl actually crying at that picture. Also the spelling 😂😂😂

VeryLittleOwl · 10/08/2020 11:16

@Cantaloupeisland - perhaps you'd like them (there are three photographers involved in the business, I'm not sure which one of them handles the social media) to do some corporate branding for you?

I'm actually very tempted to commission something to see what comes back.

Hello everyone. Can we please ask that you crop or digitally scribble any real-life names off screenshots? We've edited a few but we really don't have time to fiddle around with lots of them as we're very busy sticking glitter on Mumsnet mugs and packing the YANBU pamper hampers.

81Byerley · 10/08/2020 11:22

Well this one is different! www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2900940503348793/

To make you smile... or not. Yikes!

The first image was the main advert one.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 10/08/2020 11:24

... and this is the base of the clay head. I find it even more disturbing.

But a YANBU pamper hamper sounds actually desirable.

Cold compress for the forehead, a small delicious something, a selection of gin…

I can add local dog poo?
