According to the data, the South West’s R number is the same as the North West at +1. Will local councils be trying to sort it before the government impose official stricter lockdown measures as in the NW?

@Emmie12345 I guess it must be different in different parts of Cornwall then?
I've always known Cornwall to be busier in August?

It is really annoying people moaning so much about it, if Cornwall don't want tourists, and all the money that tourists bring, then you need to close campsites and not let out properties. If these things are all accessible to people then there are going to be people visiting.

But this way we can moan about you all AND make our money Grin
And you get a nice holiday.
Everyone’s a winner
@LittleBearPad it’s packed to the gunnels. I live here and it’s miles busier than a normal August and beaches are packed with massive groups getting pissed and playing crap music .
But not the beaches I’ve been to; both points are likely true - there are a lot of them!

They should be barred for playing crap music never mind social distancing.

We were thinking of Devon but changed to Northumberland. V glad we did. Massive golden virtually empty beaches (the touristy towns are quite busy).

starrynight19 · 09/08/2020 21:04

porcupineinwaiting yes us to. We had the most amazing week in Northumberland, lots of beaches that were empty.

Having an amazing two weeks right now in Cornwall. Beaches are no busier than they always are. We are down on the Lizard peninsular which does tend to be quieter usually than some of the larger towns.

Have been a few Cornish grumbles that some of the type of visitors are different to the usual crowd!
