to wonder how people with Michael Jackson tattoos feel now?

Was just watching an episode of tattoo fixers and there's a girl on there who had a huge MJ memorial tat on her back. The guy tattooing her also had a MJ tattoo. I also work with someone who has MJ tattooed on their shoulder.

I mean, would people feel ok with having had Rolf Harris or similar tattooed on them?

What are happening to these tattoos? Do you think a lot of people have had them removed?

Curious to know what people think about this...

It wouldn't even matter to me if he was found innocent or guilty. I don't think I would want a tattoo of anyone who millions of people believed was a paedophile. Proven or not.

@Andthewinnerislucky there’s a lot online if you search. Copies of things like fbi files, report from different people, naked child images seized from his house.

DeeTractor · 11/07/2020 19:12

"Meh, all tattoos are tacky."

That didn't take long.

whattimeisitrightnow · 11/07/2020 19:12

MJ admitted having children over to sleep with him, in his bed. If you believe that there is an innocent explanation for that, you are as thick as pig shit.
I don’t think anyone actually does believe it, though, bar a very few. I think people are either a) rooted in denial or b) hold deeply offensive, stereotypical views about what victims and perpetrators of child abuse should look like and are unwilling to compromise them.
As anyone who has ever been anywhere near a police investigation into historic abuse knows, being found not guilty is meaningless even when it’s a regular person, let alone someone with power, money, and fame.

I have a Madonna Madame X tattoo,i will be adding to it soon.

But MJ is different there where always rumours about him.
I never liked him,i always felt like there was something "off" about him.

There has been too much circumstantial evidence for him to be completely innocent.

whattimeisitrightnow · 11/07/2020 19:14

@Andthewinnerislucky
As above, he admitted to having children in his bed for sleepovers. Not to mention that witness testimony IS evidence, obviously.

Grapewrath · 11/07/2020 19:14

His die hard fans will excuse his wrongdoing no matter what. Even if he was never convicted as a child abuser, what grown adult takes a child unrelated to him to his bed?
I have a lyric tattooed on me-not MJ thankfully but even if there was controversy about the singer, it’s still a beautiful lyric. If it was something particularly awful I could easily have it covered

Kljnmw3459 · 11/07/2020 19:14

What kind of evidence do you require? Photographs, videos? I'd think he wouldn't have been dumb enough to have any photographic evidence of the abuse.

pictish · 11/07/2020 19:15

God he was a horrible creature. A predator, a manipulator, a user, a paedophile.

viques · 11/07/2020 19:15

@Flutterpieandpinkieshy

He was proven innocent. In the trial the case completely fell apart. Hence the verdict and as for the 1993 boy,

Jackson was strip searched in early 93, because the boy claimed to know intimate details about Jackson, it was wrong.

Also, regarding the most recent interview about MJ including Shafechuck and Wade... Do your research. Both are in masses of debt, both have outstandingly contradictory stories.

I'm not a huge MJ fan. But I've researched well.

Me too, the Earth is flat. I read it online. And those moon landings, blimey o'riley , some people are easily fooled. Google it, you'll see what I mean. The truth is out there on line .
Timekeeper1 · 11/07/2020 19:16

He was not 'proven' innocent at all. That is not how the law system works. OJ Simpson was found not guilty, too. There are far far too many allegations about Jackson, too many people who knew, for him to be innocent.

If anyone does the slightest bit of research they will see he was guilty. It was only his fame than got him off.

I agree though. I wouldn't either because you'll have to constantly explain yourself or risk looking like a paedophile or have heated arguments.

OTOH I wouldn't have a tattoo of anyone, fullstop. Not name or image or date - things can always go wrong and you're faced with either living with it or removal.

Sparklesocks · 11/07/2020 19:17

More generally I don’t necessarily believe being found innocent in court means you are in actuality. We all know just how low the conviction rate is for sex crimes.

steff13 · 11/07/2020 19:17

He was found innocent

He was found not guilty. Not guilty is not the same as innocent, at least here in the US. OJ Simpson was found not guilty, but I don't think most people would argue he was innocent.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

Oops, cross post with Timekeeper1.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 11/07/2020 19:19

I think he is guilty but there are still a few of his songs I listen to. They haven't stopped being fantastic songs. But I do wonder whether I should just pretend they don't exist.

Does he still get commercial radio play?

safariboot · 11/07/2020 19:19

I suspect anyone who got the tattoo late in Michael Jackson's life or after his death believes he was innocent. Remember nothing was ever proven to the criminal standard of "beyond all reasonable doubt". So even though you or I might think Jackson was obviously a child abuser, someone else can still reasonably think he wasn't.

I suspect those who got a tat earlier in MJ's career mostly dislike it now.

AlicjaCross · 11/07/2020 19:19

All those that think him guilty will not change their minds. There is no proof he did anything wrong. Leave them to their ignorance.

Next they'll be saying he didn't have vitiligo.

steff13 · 11/07/2020 19:21

I'm intrigued by the "found innocent" notion. Is that something you have in the UK? Here it's guilty or not guilty. A finding of not guilty means that the jury didn't find that the prosecutor met the burden of proof. It does not equate to the person being innocent. They may be, but none necessarily.

OhCaptain · 11/07/2020 19:23

What sort of loser gets a celebrity tattooed on themselves anyway?

If you’re sad that, you’re probably not going to believe anything negative about him!

Timekeeper1 · 11/07/2020 19:23

@Flutterpieandpinkieshy So many things wrong here, and you said you 'researched well'. Clearly not.

He was not 'proven innocent'. There is no such thing in Jurisprudence.
The jury felt there wasn't enough evidence to convict, that's all. It does not mean he was proven innocent. Not at all.

The drawing of the penis matched. Even FBI and police said this. Not sure why there are some that still are under the misunderstanding that it didn't. There is even a YouTube clip (I hesitate to use YT as proof, unless it is of an actual recorded interview or news item) where his lawyers with Meserau said they wanted to settle out of court when they learned the drawing MATCHED.

Both Robson and Safechuck have good businesses, both are millionaires. Safechuck runs a computer software company in LA. And no, their stories are not contradictory at all. That is another myth.

I suggest you actually do some research.

Andthewinnerislucky · 11/07/2020 19:23

And where did you get your own truth that he's guilty? Offline? Your own personal real life investigation? I'm assuming your post is sarcasm which means you believe think know he's guilty.

SunbathingDragon · 11/07/2020 19:25

I don’t have an MJ tattoo and can find myself agreeing with some of the “he was found not guilty” comments, especially in light of the recent revelations in the Johnny Depp vs The Sun case (because it’s now apparent that Amber Heard is abusive and she was widely defended by many at the time as being completely innocent - its ok, I believe Johnny Depp to also be abusive).

All that said, there are many who believe the worst of MJ (perhaps quite rightly but I doubt we will ever know) and some may be conscious if the speculation. However, I would imagine why the person had the tattoo in the first place and the meaning behind it. Lots of people regret completely innocuous tattoos and it’s about the fact they are inked rather than what it is.
