AIBU - hot drinks in the morning

So my DH is great. We share parenting, he does lots of house work etc etc
But... We take turns getting up with the kids and the person who gets up makes us both our morning caffeine.
I like coffee.
He likes tea.

He will never ever make me a coffee.. I always make him he's tea and my self a coffee. On his get up he makes us both tea. He knows I like a morning coffee.

I know their are bigger problems in the world by the way!!!

1. Ask him to make you coffee instead

and / or

1. Stop making him tea

There are bigger problems but this would piss me off.

Do you have fresh or instant coffee? If it’s instant yanbu. If fresh then I can see his point as it’s a faff.

Have you asked him why he does this?

What reason does he give for making the unwanted tea?

Is your coffee order complex? I can see him not wanting to knock up an extra tall skinny vanilla latte at 6am...

I have asked him to make me coffee... He knows what I like.
I think it's laziness maybe? Or he prefers tea pot tea rather than tea bag in a cup tea maybe?

They clearly don't, you make both your drinks, he makes himself a drink which is pretty selfish however you look at it. Stop making his drink.

Every week morning I get up and make myself a tea and dh a coffee because he has work to get ready for. Every Saturday and Sunday he gets up and makes me a tea and himself a coffee. In your situation I would either stop making him a drink altogether or make him a coffee. If he doesn't drink coffee maybe he doesn't know how to make it? That or he's a jerk. Don't mess with the morning caffeine!!

Have you spoken to him about it? Does he make you coffee at other times of the day?

I make myself fresh coffee with my machine that HE bought me for my birthday!
I'm happy to have him make me instant though.

Maybe suggest he gets himself a small teapot so he can make a single cup of tea in a tea pot?

Make him a coffee then. Every single time. Might get the message through.

I think he doesn’t know how to use the coffee machine and/or can’t be bothered to learn. Stop making him tea and offer to give him a lesson in coffee making.

Ask him for coffee as he ges up. If he brings you tea when you asked for coffee stop bringing him tea. He's being ever so rude.

You are both BU as you should be drinking hot lemon water first thing. HTH.

Next time it's your turn to make the drinks, make him a coffee

My DP makes himself coffee and me a tea. Sometimes I get the added bonus of the teabag still in the mug.
