Putting his hands around my neck... 3 strikes and you’re out?

He has done it twice so far, only left red marks. I have told people, they have asked I call police and given me details of a solicitor. I have a 3 strikes option in my head, this was strike 2, I have told more people this time (including his family) mine don’t like my position but accept it and have offered to pay for a solicitor.
3 strikes, AIBU?
I haven’t name changed for this as I don’t see why I should, it’s not my dirty secret to keep.

Ask you solicitor to raise the issue of “special measures” for the contested hearing. There are strategies in place to protect you from being xx’d by your Ex.

In relation to his statement, just take a deep breath, and go through it paragraph by paragraph. Take breaks if you need to. Just make a note of what’s wrong and why it’s wrong. Not an easy task, but speaking from experience, the more instructions you can give your lawyer the easier you make their job for you.

You’ve left him. That’s the hardest part done.

It's there anyone you trust who would sit with you while you go through his statement? Just to help you keep it all in perspective so you can get it done.

The courts provide advocates for the vulnerable. Not sure if for civil
Or just criminal and if you’d be classed as vulnerable but worth checking

Why wait for 3 strikes and your out, I'd ask him to leave now. On the 3rd strike you may not have the option to leave he may kill you. You have seen it so many times in the paper and on tv. Please get rid of him now. X

Hi OP,
I have no advice because I have no experience of this situation. But I wanted to say, well done! You are a hero, you have rescued yourself, your children and your dog. You are an incredibly brave and strong woman.

Could be third time lucky for him... what are you waiting for?

TOFO1965 · 18/09/2020 10:09

Thread fully read! Glad you got out. Good luck.
