Just retiled the kitchen and have this old capped off gas pipe that we can't remove and would love some ideas on what to use to hide it. It measures about 5cm x 5cm.

How about a nice tall vase with some dried pampas grass in it?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/06/2020 20:32

Best thread title ever! Grin

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 20:41

@GetUpAgain That was my first instinct.

Faux curtains

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 20:44

@seenbeensbean

I fear my little unsightly knob would lose the battle with the mighty Banhammer. There wouldn't be much thrust and parry.

I think the ban hammer is probably made of stiffer sterner stuff than your little knob.

Scrawl “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” next to it

Oddgirlout · 25/06/2020 21:03

@Catiopea

Scrawl “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” next to it
This is the best suggestion
MyChemicalMummy · 25/06/2020 21:12

We got some rubber pipe capes from amazon and cut the length down

Another vote for Ceci n'est pas un pipe - but if you want more practical, you can stick anything around it with a ton of Sugru

Get the lazy git plumber back round. Furn off gas at mains. Run the cooker and oven until they go out. And get him to do it properly

dunelm had a nice ceramic wall duck you could hang over it

MistyGreenAndBlue · 25/06/2020 21:48

What do you mean? It's a beautiful knob. Celebrate your knob. All knobs are valid

RaN88 · 25/06/2020 21:50

A shelf about two feet above it and put one of those hanging plants on it and let the leaves cover it

Orchis Italica.

Reviews suggest they might be disappointing, though - it seems they are much smaller than they seem in the picture.

cecinestpasunepipe · 25/06/2020 23:26

I have the intellectual property in Ceci n'est pas une pipe, but how about Ceci n'est pas une knob.

BertieBotts · 25/06/2020 23:31

Put a tiny face mask under it as a coronavirus memorial? Like this.

@cecinestpasunepipe, I think "knob" would be masculine don't you? As in "un knob" Grin

Rafflesway · 25/06/2020 23:43

Ahem!

May I be so bold as to ask how far said knob protrudes?

Fieldofgreycorn · 26/06/2020 00:01

Where does it go and why is it there?
