Just retiled the kitchen and have this old capped off gas pipe that we can't remove and would love some ideas on what to use to hide it. It measures about 5cm x 5cm.

@Tlollj

Blimey those plugs are near the sink aren’t they.
String of pearls isn't an airplant, but it is a succulent so only needs watering every so often so you could just unhang it away from the plugs to water
Lellochip · 25/06/2020 19:07

Quoted the wrong post there Hmm

poppyfieldsinmay · 25/06/2020 19:11

How disappointing..

Grin my thoughts exactly..

StressedMom4 · 25/06/2020 19:15

Could you drill in some small hooks either side of it and have like tea towels or something hanging off to cover it up?

Kaathesnake · 25/06/2020 19:15

I’m probably being childish ( blaming the humidity here... the suns gone in)
But I’m having a right laugh at some of these comments😂😂

@Namechange2020onceagain

I do like the corner shelf but you would still see the knob.
I think you'd have to bend down and look hard for the knob.

story of my life

Zaphodsotherhead · 25/06/2020 19:19

I had an unsightly knob once, but I divorced him.

I'd hang something off yours. If the washing machine is underneath, can you do something creative like a macrame bag to hang your laundry pods in?

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 25/06/2020 19:26

That is the least of your worries. Is your place rented because those socket outlets are unacceptably close to a water source. If you turn your tap round to put water onto the draining board it could splash your socket outlets. Very dangerous.

ODFOx · 25/06/2020 19:33

You need to make it into a feature. Could you cast a rude gargoyle over it?

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 19:37

@NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite It's fine, it's well over 30cm from the tap even I swung it around on to the drainer and I wouldn't do that anyway.

@AlCalavicci

How about this ? ]]

Eek , long link !

^^ This would be a good idea to cover knob.
Whywhywhy321 · 25/06/2020 19:42

Oops link has disappeared. See Alcalavicci’s post.

Craftycorvid · 25/06/2020 19:42

Well, I came on to say ‘put some clothes on’ Grin

Wanderer1 · 25/06/2020 19:45

I'd do a white corner shelf with a trim that sticks out underneath

Thelittleweasel · 25/06/2020 19:48

@Namechange2020onceagain

With great care! Although capped off it is probably live gas to that point.

A shelf over the top perhaps?

I just had to look at this thread to see what it was about! Grin wanders off having lost interest

bridgetreilly · 25/06/2020 20:04

Wall-mounted kitchen roll holder above the tiles, and always leave half a sheet hanging down to hide the knob.

MadameMeursault · 25/06/2020 20:04

That’s a very small knob OP. I don’t see how that can be satisfactory!

You’re a dirty minded individual!

You fit in well around here. 🤣

Is the ban hammer larger than the aforementioned knob?
GetUpAgain · 25/06/2020 20:27

Stick a jolly coloured dildo over it, so no one knows you have a knob in the kitchen.
