Just retiled the kitchen and have this old capped off gas pipe that we can't remove and would love some ideas on what to use to hide it. It measures about 5cm x 5cm.

Small corner shelf and a tiny plant pot...or to continue the knob theme: small corner shelf which proudly holds an outsize ornamental comedy gigantic pepper grinder

amatsip · 25/06/2020 18:01

I'd get quick drying clay, make it into a ball lol it over your knob and paint it green like the wall and use it for a towel book of similar.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 25/06/2020 18:01

FatPantsOn is clearly over-invested in the knob, and possibly slightly envious

amatsip · 25/06/2020 18:01

Pop not lol

Cocobean30 · 25/06/2020 18:02

Corner shelf above it with a trailing plant that covers the knob with its leaves

iseeu · 25/06/2020 18:02

If you paint it completely white, several coats, you won't notice it, honestly! That is my mantra about life in general - if in doubt paint it white.

NathanNathan · 25/06/2020 18:02

I've got two of these unsightly knobs OP, think yourself lucky you've just got the one.

I've just painted them the same colour as the background.

CountFosco · 25/06/2020 18:02

My own loony suggestion is to paint it red & make it a feature! You could put a sign under it

'Press in case of emergency'

'Be gentle with my knob'

Please do this. Also, that title is classic MN so brave.

BaronessBomburst · 25/06/2020 18:02

Personally I'd move the sink and attach a cooker. I'd love a proper oven and a gas grill. I'd make cheese on toast. And meringues.

FlamedToACrisp · 25/06/2020 18:02

@Wynston

Can u put a little corner shelf with a dangling plant???
Just what I was going to suggest!
itbemay1 · 25/06/2020 18:03

Hanging plant on a command hook slightly about so the hangy bits cover the nob. Ikea do a nice faux one

HowFastIsTooFast · 25/06/2020 18:03

A little corner shelf with a plant on it?

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 18:04

Is it a grower? I bloody hope not.

Cut a ping pong ball in half, spot of blue tack, job done.

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 18:05

I like this. Does anyone know the name of the plant? Air plants would be good as there is a plug socket underneath.

FFS autocunt that should have said Bravo!

tinkywinkyshandbag · 25/06/2020 18:05

Need to see pic of it in context hard to judge from
Close up

longtompot · 25/06/2020 18:05

Hanging plant from the ceiling so it's long enough to cover the hideous knob. A spider plant should do the job nicely, or a string of pearls.

Carolbaskinstiger · 25/06/2020 18:06

Your dh wants to put a garish pompom on his knob? Oh dear.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 25/06/2020 18:08

Sorry just saw other pic. Shelf above best solution IMO maybe one of those with butchers hooks and dangly things under

Thinkingabout1t · 25/06/2020 18:09

Hang a small picture from it?

LynetteScavo · 25/06/2020 18:12

Why didn't you get the sockets moved to below the counter level? (Totally misses point)

Is stock a plant in front of it.

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 18:16

The washing machine is under the counter, so I would have to heft it out to turn it on and off.

Blimey, that's a heck of an effort for a bit of foreplay.
