Just retiled the kitchen and have this old capped off gas pipe that we can't remove and would love some ideas on what to use to hide it. It measures about 5cm x 5cm.

Can u put a little corner shelf with a dangling plant???

seenbeensbean · 25/06/2020 17:47

At least it's a useful knob....

Cabinfever10 · 25/06/2020 17:47

Curtains

Nonononon · 25/06/2020 17:49

Oh I see, I imagined it was a lot higher up than that (Also made a mental note never to poly filler gas pipes, the more you know!)
Erm, saying as how it's a safty issue and that my DIY skills end at Polly filler and sand paper.. maybe just hide it with a picture, blackboard or a fancy vase?

Thepilotlightsgoneout · 25/06/2020 17:49

Corner shelf above it?

LuluJakey1 · 25/06/2020 17:49

I was horrified when I read your title OP, I though DH had been on here again.
I am so relieved!

rslsys · 25/06/2020 17:50

Hang Alexa off it!

It is crucial to get something on it as my dh wants to put a pompom on it and as if that wasn't hideous enough, the one he wants is a awful garish colour. HELP.

I would just paint it white and hope it learns to blend into it's surroundings as best as it can. But apparently i'm unreasonable.

I like the idea of a plant pot, but I don't know how I would attach it.

I would also like to point out that I didn't polyfill it, it was like that when we moved in.

I agree with the little corner shelf above it.

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 17:52

Why wasn’t it removed before tiling Because I don't have ££££££ to get it removed.

What about a small corner shelf? Then put a potted plant on it?

SixesAndEights · 25/06/2020 17:56

Paint it pure brilliant white and it'll match the tiles better.

Thepilotlightsgoneout · 25/06/2020 17:56

HappyHammy · 25/06/2020 17:57

if you put a plant above it you will have to be careful watering it with the plug sockets just underneath

Namechange2020onceagain · 25/06/2020 17:57

I do like the corner shelf but you would still see the knob.

LuluJakey1 · 25/06/2020 17:57

Definitely a small corner shelf.

hellsbellsmelons · 25/06/2020 17:57

THIS MIGHT WORK
OR SOMETHING A BIT MORE TWEE!?

Menaimum · 25/06/2020 17:58

Thank you for that click bait title and the relief when it was what it was!

hellsbellsmelons · 25/06/2020 17:58

Ooooohhh though - just seen Thepilotlightsgoneout suggestion.
Like that!!

TiddlestheCat · 25/06/2020 17:59

I would stick one of these on top. Removed the screw first. You could hang a dishcloth or keys on it.

@youwereagoodcakeclyde

Ace title Your knob looks smaller than the dimensions you are quoting Is there a work surface underneath it?
Isn't that always the case? Grin
HeyLala · 25/06/2020 18:00

Corner shelf, trailing plant

PanamaPattie · 25/06/2020 18:00

Oh I see. It is just like an unsightly knob - only smaller.

SauvignonBlanketyBlank · 25/06/2020 18:01

Is it a grower?
