Would you buy a house next to a grave yard?

Just looking for opinions on if this would put buyers off a house or not. Found a lovely property but it wouldn’t be our ‘forever’ home so would likely need to sell it at some point and am wondering if it would put the majority of buyers off or not. I’m not woo and find old graveyards peaceful. I wouldn’t choose to live next to a current one that would be different to me, but I’m fine with these old graves.

It gives us a view of lovely green space outside our back window. I love it. That is hard to come by in our parti of the world.

I'm assuming it's attached to a church? Is there plenty of parking nearby or are you likely to have your road packed and your drive blocked off every Sunday morning and every time there's a funeral (wedding, christening, etc).

But no, the actual graveyard wouldn't bother me.

No noisy neighbors throwing parties on the weekends, that's a plus.

I would love to but I would be worried about reselling. I saw a beautiful house on a graveyard, was so tempted to go for it but it had been on the market for 2 years.

It wouldn't put me off at all. Open space, greenery, pretty quiet, and no chance of building development.

Yes, I'd be ok with an old one.
Not so much with one that is still being used to due the amount of traffic and potential parking issues.

I'd love it. Unless it's one of the graveyards that attract shagging and druggies.

It’s not attached to a church, the old chapel in its grounds has been converted to a house. It’s very rural and really peaceful.

I live opposite a graveyard - no headstones, but house is in the grounds of a converted Victorian mental asylum (from the day’s where they pretty much tortured the patients) and my house is opposite the burial plot.....

It’s fine and not spooky at all. I walk over it at night and everything! I wouldn’t have wanted a house inside the old building though!

My grandparents lived next to a church yard. As kids we used to find it spooky, especially with the church bells chiming in the night, but it was fine in reality. My grandpa is buried there now. Graveyards differ though. Theres a massive cemetery near here that has several roads backing on to it. Everyone uses it to walk through and as a nature reserve, place of historical interest. House prices are higher if you are in close proximity, it's such a lovely location.

Wasn't there a thread where somebody who lived next to a graveyard dug up some bones and skulls in their garden?

Would be preferable to living neighbours!
It wouldn't put me off at all, unless there's an issue with kids messing around in there late at night.

But looking at the responses you have already have it seems the majority so far wouldn’t be put off so if it’s the house you want then go for it.
