admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

Oooh oodles of posts since I started

theUrbanDryad · 23/09/2007 13:54

oh, bugger my slow typing.

haw haw.

WanderingTrolley · 23/09/2007 13:54

BBBee

I shouldn't really be here, but it's stultifyingly dull here at Trolley Towers on Sundays. Half the staff are having a day's holiday and everywhere is covered in mess until they're all back tomorrow to do their bloody jobs.

talulasmum, put them down for Eton or Beneden now and tutor them to death in a few years, stop fussing woman!

I am glad to say I am unfamiliar with a "packed" "lunch" so I can't help anyone there - though I think it's rather like a picnic hamper for common people taking to the school dining hall.

TheWiltedRose · 23/09/2007 13:55

talulasmum what you dont seem to realise is that the Mundane things as you seem to think they are all add up to make the life that your living so why shouldnt mums discuss them?

Every decsision we make small or large has an impact on your children so forgive me if i think that there worth talking about!

Slubberdegullion · 23/09/2007 13:56

lol at the oxymoron of lulu being a bully.

fwiw I'm refreshing this thread to discover what a nice middle class spanking entails.

Threadworm · 23/09/2007 13:56

It's funny, isn't it, that the OP (and lots of the world at large!) can use 'middle-class' as an insult.

No one would think it was ok to criticise Mumsnet by saying something like 'Mumsnet is full of working-class women.'

Is it really terrible to be mc? Why?

ComeOVeneer · 23/09/2007 13:56

"on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet"

Wilted, is it any wonder that people are jumping on the band waggon and having a go at the OP, if he/she makes comments like the one above?

unknownrebelbang · 23/09/2007 13:57

Life IS mundane for most of us most of the time.

TheWiltedRose · 23/09/2007 13:57

oh no.... am i bullying?

3andnomore · 23/09/2007 13:57

but rose...wasn't exactly as if teh op was all nicey nicey about people here in general...what would one expect?

Talula...if you read about more, you would see that not many people here are just and only wrapped up in mundane things...and if you actually ahd followed the lunchbox thread, you would realise that many people tehre posted because they care...not just about their own brood, but about the children that come from less well off backgrounds...

barefeete · 23/09/2007 13:57

come on you lot op has obviously stood back to watch the fireworks, let it go and moveon don't turn on each other.

btw what's wrong with special brew, very tasty i am told when served chilled!

mytwopenceworth · 23/09/2007 13:57

You bend over a chaise lounge and get beaten by a cane from Harrods and your spanker says Oh, do excuse me, every time they whack you.

Maybe.

Cammelia · 23/09/2007 13:58

How mundane thinking about one's dc's future education

theUrbanDryad · 23/09/2007 13:58

oh WT, dahling, finally someone to have a proper middle class boring conversation with. Have you put Jacinta's name down for Malvern St James yet?

Tobias already has his name put down for Charterhouse naturally.

Blandmum · 23/09/2007 13:59

Blimey, she must have missed the arse sex threads then.......

scienceteacher · 23/09/2007 13:59

I'm a middle-class bore, and I don't think the majority of mumnetters are like me at all.

I certainly don't have any children called Talula

SSSandy2 · 23/09/2007 14:00

Urban, one is intrigued:
"groom's off sick with the nanny"

very intrigued

talulasmum · 23/09/2007 14:00

3andnomore... all im saying is when someone posts and its not that nice why do we all seem to be brought down to that level and feel like we have to retort back instead of rising above it?

I have had the pleasure of talking to a lot of people on MN and i dont find it boring at all or snobby but i have seen that a few people do get drawn into arguments where it gets out of hand and nasty things are said.

lissielou · 23/09/2007 14:02

fgs, if you dont like this site then find another. its really not that hard. why attack people you dont know because their problems/life/plans dont interest you.

and as for lulu being a bully! how utterly ridiculous. she is one of the kindest, lovliest people that i have ever had the privilige to have come across.

3andnomore · 23/09/2007 14:02

Slubber, it isn't going to be a middleclass spanking...jsut a common people one...sorry for disappointing...
