admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

How is knowing the names of schools middle class!?!? I know the names of schools - doesn't mean my children do or will ever go there.

InMyHumbleOpinion · 23/09/2007 14:05

It's the old story.

"You're a bully!"

"But I haven't bullied anyone! I would never do that!"

"That's what bullies say, you bully!"

Burn 'er! She's a witch!

3andnomore · 23/09/2007 14:05

mtpw...glad for explaining the middleclass spanking....well...the spanking on offer was more down the line....over the knee and using a baseball bat...hehe

TWR, i apologise, by the time id read the thread and written my post it had all been sorted out

OrmIrian · 23/09/2007 14:06

Middle class is tricky one. I think it tends to depend on how you define class. Something I have learned not to do.

A bore is only a bore if they are talking about something that doesn't interest you. But I was always taught that those who get bored are actually fairly boring themselves. You have to be fairly unimaginative to find any subject totally uninteresting. And there are so many subjects on MN that if you can't find anything of interest here at all .....

Urban Dryad, I have it on good authority that Malvern St James has a member of staff from the antipodes [utter horse-faced horror] so it is orf our list. Rising inflections and overly familiar behaviour at every turn? No thank you!

Tell me, where do you hire from? My new second under butler has been neglecting his chandelier polishing duties in the upper third floor annexe west facing east wing informal weekend drawing room. That's the last time I hire a member of a royal family.

What is "special" "brew" - is it something to do with working class tea?

theUrbanDryad · 23/09/2007 14:06

ooh, is one being called a snob for mentioning ones children's schools? how exciting!

and yes, the groom is off sick, and so is the nanny. i fear this is not a coincidence.

And as usual have cross posted with the apology.

Sometimes I feel like that Japanese soldier who was picked up 20 years after the war, they had to dig out his old commander cos he wouldn't stop shooting.

Dear. It's Dear Husband. Dear Daughter, Dear Son. Dear Wife.

And that's just for convenience.

In real life he's called Pig, the kids are Brat 1 & Brat 2 and the wife is the old ball & chain.

WanderingTrolley · 23/09/2007 14:08

Are the working classes allowed to marry?

Do they not need the permission of the land owner and the Rector?

Flamesparrow · 23/09/2007 14:09

DH, DD etc is common across the internet in general - it isn't an MN invention. You can change darling for devious, downright nasty or whatever D you want tbh!!!
