admittedly, ive only been a member for a few months, but i have come to this conclusion. take today for instance. the main topic of conversation on this section is; parents of 5 year olds worried about which senior school to go to? on that thread is the biggest bore & snob you will ever have the misfortune to meet. this popular thread is closely followed by mums worried about whats in their kids packed lunch? mums get a life! im off for a fag.

OP posts:

There are lots of middle class views, but on the whole its a helpful discussion site. A question regardless of how stupid one person feels it is, will be useful to another. Thats because not everyone knows everything. The world would be very boring if everyone agreed.
BTW think I'll join you in the smokers corner!!

TnOgu · 23/09/2007 13:39

There are middle class bores, working class eejits, unemployed intellectuals, mothers who support breastfeeding, mothers who don't, mothers who smack, others that never would....

The assortment of people who post is wide and varied.

Have your say, read what others think, agree, disagree, it really has no bearing on much at the end of the day.

Some posters on MN are extremely helpful, and do help people in many aspects of their lives as a parent, with messages of empathy and support.

Live and let live,

or

Post and let post, in this case.

Cammelia · 23/09/2007 13:39

talulasmum what are you?

As you're so keen to label people you must ahve a label for yourself?

edam · 23/09/2007 13:40

Um, if you don't like MN, then why don't you go and find something more you?

Cammelia · 23/09/2007 13:41

And btw I'm a ponce not a bore

gibberish · 23/09/2007 13:41

YABU. Your conclusion is incorrect. You don't have to be middle class to be a bore.

TheWiltedRose · 23/09/2007 13:41

"i was not bullying about the fact she has gone out for a fag... "

But thats just it isnt it your still bullying!

What makes you better than the OP when you turn around and show yourselves like this and start going on about all sorts of stereotypes: "well done Op have your fag and why not open up a nice can of special brew at the same time. "

Sometimes i wonder why you join this site if not to start fights and make yourselves look better because you dont have any vices like everyone else!

Freckle · 23/09/2007 13:41

Since when did popping out for a fag equate to having a life? Having a death more like.

BBBee · 23/09/2007 13:41

(boring ponce)

WanderingTrolley · 23/09/2007 13:41

I am unable to respond to this thread, as Tarquin has just dropped houmous onto his new John Rocha trousers, and Jacinta is crying about something terribly dull, and I can't find the new weekend nanny. You will laugh though - I can't remember the new nanny's name, aren't I a fright?!

BBBee · 23/09/2007 13:41

(poncing bore)

BBBee · 23/09/2007 13:42

WT - I love you - you always make me laugh!

lulumama · 23/09/2007 13:42

wilted.. please do point out where i have bullied the OP

i am an ex smoker, so please don;t presume i am being holier than thou

unknownrebelbang · 23/09/2007 13:43

I passed no comment on the smoking.

Although now you come to mention it...

SSSandy2 · 23/09/2007 13:43

can't really see lulu as a bully myself

Slubberdegullion · 23/09/2007 13:43

(Moderately boring, upper middle middle class semi ponce).

that is 2 threads out of the hundreds...

find something that interests you rather than slagging off huge swathes of mumsnet..

i think it is perfectly reasonable to worry about their child's nutrition

mums get a life... so popping out for a fag is better than giving a hoot about what your child eats

nothing about special brew, or me thinking i am better than her...

lulumama · 23/09/2007 13:44

thanks sssandy

TheWiltedRose · 23/09/2007 13:44

you said "im not bullying about the fact that..."
you implyed that your still bullying just not about the smoking!

daisyandbabybootoo · 23/09/2007 13:44

thewiltedrose, the OP mentioned the fags, implying that he/she thought that having a fag was not a middle class bore.

IMO he/she opened herself up to the ensuing ridicule.

and i think he/she is getting exactly the sort of responses he/she wanted....IMHO

lulumama · 23/09/2007 13:45

please copy and paste anything that i have said that can be interpreted as bullying

you are now picking on me

3andnomore · 23/09/2007 13:45

lol at you lot...
but, wow...I never knew I am middleclass...must have gone up in this world then and never even noticed

Cammelia · 23/09/2007 13:45
TheWiltedRose · 23/09/2007 13:45

lule the special brew comment was not yours it was barfeete i was talking in general about a few not just you!

lulumama · 23/09/2007 13:46

i implied i;m still bullying

FGS

am quite angry actually, wiltedrose

that is most uncalled for

i am not a bully

i have never been a bully

and i find it incredibly insulting that you are saying i am one
