I have a diary invite from my bosses boss and HR. The title of the invite is org review. So doesn’t look good?

Or it may be to do with updating my HR file as I have to have nhs treatment for something that I didn’t tell them about when I joined the company 2 years ago. It’s just psychology once a week.

Sorry just posting for traffic on this sub. I’m concerned that because there was a bit of an issue with my boss and I, I’m also in trouble. :/ oh god.

Why are you in trouble?

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 01:26

Because me and my boss aren’t getting on.... and our bosses boss has to get involved.

I would hope for the best but prepare for the worst

It's not nice not knowing what is going on. This us the worst bit. Once you go to the meeting, you will at least know what zny issues are and can go from there. Normally that title would mean an organisational review - ie possible restructuring

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 01:44

What does restructuring me? Job loss?

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 01:47

What’s an org review?

OP posts:
soundsystem · 09/06/2020 01:49

Agree with Gobbolino that organisation review usually = restructure, unfortunately.

Are you in an industry that's been affected by COVID?

pinksunday · 09/06/2020 01:51

Sounds like they're maybe restructuring - it doesn't always mean it's bad news.

Are you in a trade union? If so you shoyld be able to take a TU rep wuth you. If not you could take a colleague - if it's a formal meeting you are definitely allowed a TU rep or colleague.

I hope it goes OK. Good luck

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 01:52

Why would it not mean it’s bad news?

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 01:53

I think all industries are affected by Covid in one way or another

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:15

How do I know if it’s a formal meeting?

OP posts:
CMMum88 · 09/06/2020 02:22

Org review generally means restructure. It doesn't sound like a formal disciplinary meeting you would know if it was that. It's more likely that you are going to be affected by a restructure proposal. That could mean job loss but it could also mean a new position/change in reporting line etc. For example I recently went through a restructure and was moved directly to reporting to my bosses boss and am now on the same level as my old boss.

HannaYeah · 09/06/2020 02:29

It’s interesting that your boss isn’t scheduled in the meeting. If I had a meeting with my grand boss and HR, I’d think I was getting a new boss.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:34

He’s moved our 121 to later in the week so I think he knows something is up.
I won’t be made higher in the company nor change reporting line due to the job I do.

Why would my boss be included in the meeting though? Wouldn’t it be a senior boss?

OP posts:
HannaYeah · 09/06/2020 02:38

I’ve never had an HR meeting with anyone above my boss without the boss included. My boss also doesn’t meet with my staff about HR matters without me.

Have you met with them like this before? What problems have you been having with your boss?

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:43

I feel my boss is sweeping a lot of issues under the table etc. So I had a chat with my bosses boss a few weeks ago (he initiated it). So I don’t know.

OP posts:
CMMum88 · 09/06/2020 02:44

At our recent restructure, the announcements came from the head of our area. In a previous restructure, they came from our direct boss. Tbh it makes perfect sense that you are having the meeting with your bosses boss if the relationship has broken down between you and your direct boss.

HannaYeah · 09/06/2020 02:44

My guess is you are getting a new boss. Either yours is leaving the company or they are changing things around.

Do you have any reason to believe you’d be let go?

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:44

Yeah he’s sort of the head but not the head. He’s one up from my boss but it goes higher (obviously).

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:45

@HannaYeah corona. But none of my department with furlonged.... so I don’t know.

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:45

I’m moving the different POV I’m getting! Is everyone Aus based (guessing on the time).

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:49

@HannaYeah mine isn’t leaving, he wouldn’t unless he given redudency.

OP posts:
timeisnotaline · 09/06/2020 02:51

It could easily be bad news for your boss not you. I’d try and go in with an open mind and not be defensive? How would you react if it does mean your position is at risk? Org review does mean restructure I think.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 02:54

@timeisnotaline nah there would be no point getting rid of my boss as geographically it wouldn’t work etc.

It will be for me for speaking my mind.

OP posts:
timeisnotaline · 09/06/2020 02:58

Hmm I hope not for your sake! If you’re willing to share the problems it would help people have ideas on responses and what your recourse is. For now I’d be tempted to email/ call and ask is this a formal meeting? So you have the option to bring someone.
