I have a diary invite from my bosses boss and HR. The title of the invite is org review. So doesn’t look good?

Or it may be to do with updating my HR file as I have to have nhs treatment for something that I didn’t tell them about when I joined the company 2 years ago. It’s just psychology once a week.

They might be restructuring so that you report into someone else

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:02

It shouldn’t be a formal meeting as they would have given me info beforehand.... I’m sure.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:03

@Blondie1984 that’s already happened and it was literally just a case of heres your new boss lol.

Wouldn’t they tell the whole team at once?

OP posts:
Blondie1984 · 09/06/2020 03:04

Not if it means a change just to your job role - ie they’re just proposing to moving you out of the team

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:09

They can’t change me out of the team as there is nowhere for me to go ;)
Hence redudency ;)

  • redundancy
OP posts:
Blondie1984 · 09/06/2020 03:12

Or disciplinary

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:16

I don’t think it’s for that..... but wouldn’t they give you a warning?

OP posts:
Blondie1984 · 09/06/2020 03:23

Not necessarily....and if it’s an instant dismissal then no

Blondie1984 · 09/06/2020 03:24

It’s really hard to know without more details

HannaYeah · 09/06/2020 03:27

I’m in US. We’re you just speaking your mind about safety? I doubt you’d be in big trouble for that. Any chance your boss is in trouble?

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:29

That’s all the details I have....

We’ve had new directing lines and HR wasn’t involved. So I doubt it’s a new boss/reporting line.

I don’t think it’s instant dismissal and as the title of the invite says “org review”.

None of us in my team were furloughed... others were. So surely they would protect the business by getting government grant and not sack?

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 03:30

@HannaYeah nah he’s best pals with them. I have no interaction with them. Plus the meeting says ‘org structure’.

OP posts:
Blossom513 · 09/06/2020 05:24

Do you know if you are the only staff member to have an 'org review' with HR and have you been told to keep it confidential?

It could be a number of different things, no one here can tell you. I would take it as being serious though, something like a restructure, your job is at risk, some sort of mediation if things have been strained with your boss.

OhTheRoses · 09/06/2020 06:43

From reading your posts op, this is what I have gleaned:

You joined two years ago - I suspect you still have not reached the anniversary of 2nd year.

You witheld information upon joining anout your health and may have signed a declaration about everything on your application form being truthful.

You have had a poor relationship with your boss and others have had to get involved - which extrapolates to being a time consuming pain in the backside.

If you have just under two years' service you have no employment rights. If this is the case they are organising you out before it becomes harder.

Advice: suck it up, be eady to deal with and negotiate a good reference. I suspect they will offer you your notice pay and a gesture of goodwill. Your only leverage is that the psychological issue may render you covered by the equality act. But your time is done I suspect. It may get you an extra months' salary but only if you behave well over it and an agreed reference is necessary.

If I may venture some advice do remember your boss is your boss and it's important to be agreeable and nod and smile if you don't. Unless something illegal or fraudulent is going on in which case walk away rather than be tarnished.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 07:15

^not how it works in the UK. Can withhold info.

OP posts:
OhTheRoses · 09/06/2020 07:19

I think you will find it's exactly how it works in the UK. It depends on the declaration you signed and whether a health clearance was conducted.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 07:24

Nope, I font have go declare mental health issues.

OP posts:
OhTheRoses · 09/06/2020 07:27

You do have to be honest and maintain an acceptable attendance record and if you don't declare a disability and co-operate woth oh, your employer need only make reasonable adjustments based on the information available.

fairyfingers · 09/06/2020 07:33

I'm sorry but I would assume it's notice of redundancy. Best of luck.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 07:39

@ontherose which I have done

OP posts:
Blossom513 · 09/06/2020 07:44

OP I assume your employers now know your health condition so they can make reasonable adjustments for the appointments you need?

OP was under no obligation to tell her employers about her personal medical history when she joined two years ago. If the OP has now told them then they are still obliged to make reasonable adjustments, whether she told them yesterday or two years ago. Reasonable is subjective of course and maybe that's under discussion but she can't be sacked because she didn't tell them two years ago about a health condition. It's none of their business until she tells them, and when that is is up to the OP.

If they do not know about any disability/chronic illness then yes, they can refuse something like a request for weekly time off and I agree that OP would need to be honest and open if she wants them to support her in the workplace.

Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 07:51

@Blossom513 yes, we have a separate policy for medical appointments.

OP posts:
Helpmeupset · 09/06/2020 07:51

@fairyfingers yes :(

dontdisturbmenow · 09/06/2020 07:55

If they are doing are structure that will involve redundancy, they have to do a formal consultation if it a large enough restructure. They usually do this on an individual basis.

Could fe that but could also be disciplinary related covered under another name if HR is included. It could be a fact gathering meeting with issues that have taken place.
