I’d change the kitchen cupboards and potentially install different doors out to garden... I really like it, DH thinks garden too small (family of 4).

It is lovely, the garden is not ideal for 4 children though. Is there a nearby park?

Bluntness100 · 06/06/2020 17:11

I think it’s nice, but I’d be cautious about buying in Crawley right now, they are estimating the worst hit from Covid there with up to 57 percent unemployment due to the down turn in Gatwick, which would mean a flood of repossessions and a huge drop in the market.

Are you already in Crawley?

Puddlesplasher · 06/06/2020 17:13

It seems nice and cheap for the price. I don't know prices in Crawley (I'm up north) but was expecting it to be more. Things that would put me off would be the kitchen (but I could live with that), no en suite and proximity to the motorway.

kaldefotter · 06/06/2020 17:13

The problem with the garden is not its size but that it's not a garden.

It's all slabs and gravel and so depressing. The homeowners really dislike grass, huh?

If that's your thing, you should go for it.

Newbie1999 · 06/06/2020 17:14

@Bluntness100 Thanks for the info! No, Central London, but looking at areas within 40 mins by train and that area ticks a lot of boxes.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 06/06/2020 17:14

It’s definitely not too small for a family of 4.

I don’t like it however, the garden is awful, the layout is awful and the kitchen is ghastly.

recycledteenager24 · 06/06/2020 17:14

lovely house and pound hill is a nice area to live in, town leaves ALOT to be desired though,

WillowKnicks · 06/06/2020 17:15

I don't know the area, I'm in a completely different part of the country but I think it's a lovely family house & looks plenty big enough for a family of 4. I do agree with you about the kitchen cupboards though.

raspberryk · 06/06/2020 17:15

I think the doors into the garden are amazing. I hate the colour of the kitchen and I would hope to be able to get them wrapped cheaply as I'd hate to waste money ripping it out.
The garden is quite large, it just isn't very nice. I'd reduce the patio area, probably have decking instead and get a lawn laid. Its a fairly blank slate in that respect.

Doggybiccys · 06/06/2020 17:15

It’s a lovely house but lack of pics of bedrooms (other than one -? Master) and bathrooms makes me suspicious/ looks like they are trying to sell it on the basis of the kitchen.

Thingsdogetbetter · 06/06/2020 17:16

Depends in the age of the dc? Presume there are 2 not 4? Are you planning more cos 4th bedroom is small?

Garden can be changed. Reduce the big paving area and create a lawn or play area if they're still small. If you're creative it's a good enough size. Any parks nearby?

Very open plan downstairs. - great for keeping an eye on little ones, but not great for individual space for more independent ages. Is study big enough for a playroom?

Ickabog · 06/06/2020 17:16

It's lovely.

I disagree with your DH. I think the garden is big enough, but not well suited for young children to play in. It could definitely benefit from some grass. Although it looks like there's a lot of outdoor space nearby.

felineflutter · 06/06/2020 17:16

Not keen on it at all. The garden is a no go for me also.

Thingsdogetbetter · 06/06/2020 17:17

I love the kitchen colour! I obviously have odd taste. Lol

Newbie1999 · 06/06/2020 17:20

2 young children, definitely no more on the cards!

OP posts:
stickygotstuck · 06/06/2020 17:20

The garden is small for 4 kids, definitely.
But am I alone in thinking the kitchen, and especially the cupboards, is ace?! Grin

stickygotstuck · 06/06/2020 17:21

Ah, sorry, not 4 kids, 4 of you in total. Still, too little garden for so much house.

Merigoround · 06/06/2020 17:21

Its a nice house . I might even get used to the kitchen cupboards but I think the garden doors are fine .
The garden is a decent enough size but it depends on the make up of the family. Will you need a trampoline ? A pool? Football/cricket nets?
Nowhere to hide those in that garden .

atimetobealive · 06/06/2020 17:21

Showing a House that’s not a kick in the arse of half a million but the reasonably sized garden is too small? My heart bleeds 😂

recycledteenager24 · 06/06/2020 17:22

you have worth park near by and that is quite good for family activities, nearby schools first, middle and secondary, not far from three bridges station, tesco super store, iceland and lidls at three bridges, reasonably good bus service. pound hill is a nice area to live. it is one of 13 neighbourhoods that make up crawley, and is regarded as one of the 'nicer areas'.
i've been a local for 23 years, but moving soon as down sizing.

Chinesetakeawaay · 06/06/2020 17:23

I don't think the garden is too small; it's just a bit crap at the moment and needs work. That said, we're considering Crawley and our budget is £100k less than yours and I've seen houses in my price bracket advertised with much larger gardens.

I'm am though curious why it is still up for sale since October. Presumably too expensive for the area??

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 06/06/2020 17:24

The garden does look rather small but the house is nice.

bettytaghetti · 06/06/2020 17:24

The decor is not to my taste but that's easily changed if it's not to yours either. The garden could be much better designed but it does look like it's close to multiple green spaces that would compensate for that.
Are any of the schools of use to you, otherwise you're paying a premium for being in the catchment area?
Bluntness makes a very good point sadly.

Newbie1999 · 06/06/2020 17:25

@Chinesetakeawaay Where in Crawley are you looking, out of interest?

OP posts:
DarlingCoffee · 06/06/2020 17:25

If you currently live in central London why on earth would you move to Crawley?
