McDonald's 'value' meals. That's a hell of a lot of money for some frozen food and carbonated syrup.

Hairbands and hairbrushes and hairclips. Hair stuff.

Everyday but decent pens (the type that sit between biros and fountain pens).

Lip balm.

Laptop power cables and replacement batteries, even for old models.

Mulberry handbags. They're made in a factory (I was taken on a guided tour after a job interview with them). They're not hand made by fairies.

My children are a long way past this stage, but I was always gobsmacked at the price of baby tights.

Herecomethehotstepper · 04/06/2020 13:30

And LOL dolls! Most expensive tat ever.

potoftea · 04/06/2020 13:30

Headboards for beds, ie not built into the bed. Just the wooden ones, not padded.
Usually they are just shaped wood, and painted, but seem really expensive for what they are.

MyfanwyMontez · 04/06/2020 13:32

Canned skinless, boneless red salmon. Tiny tin is almost a fiver!

I was in Asda yesterday and was surprised to learn that Tilda basmati rice is nearly £6/kg. I can buy nearly 2kg of chicken breasts at the butchers for that.

Charlotte Tilbury's magic cream always makes me sad when I fork out for it as well.

same length.

The lenses in my glasses £150 each and no choice here with a complex prescription.

Ratonastick · 04/06/2020 13:40

Kitchen bins. The price I paid for mine, I want to bequeath to as yet unborn future generations.

DorisDances · 04/06/2020 13:40

Oh yes pp, printer ink is clearly very precious

dottiedodah · 04/06/2020 13:40

Brabantia bin liners. WTF? They’re literally made to throw away. Why are they so expensive?
