I think this about the vast majority of stuff, it’s all made in China (pretty much) at a very minimal price then sold at varying prices depending on who’s marketing it. Clothing I find a strange one, proper exclaiming they’ve bought a £250 dress which is made in the same factory as a £25 Newlook one 😂

Ben & Jerry's.

Eileithyiaa · 04/06/2020 13:45

Agree with anything Dyson.

I have the Dyson Airwrap and the price is eye watering totally worth every penny though.

Fuss · 04/06/2020 13:45

Monkey puzzle trees. I see them everywhere and I’d love one, but a tiny barely 2ft specimen is £60.

Why!?

OopsUpsideYourBed · 04/06/2020 13:46

Nit and worm treatments. Lower the price so we can all eradicate the feckers.

Is that the stick one with the curlers? Daughter bought one. I was decidedly unimpressed with it. I was desperate to like it as well.

I agree with PP above, but extend that to include any ornamental trees. I wanted an olive tree for outside my front door and even the smallest, most sickly looking tree was £50 at my local garden center. And that’s before you’ve bought a pot for it as well!

sqirrelfriends · 04/06/2020 13:47

Children's eczema creams

Frames from high street opticians, even the bog standard ones are £50+ and anything I would wear is £150+ just for frames

That's not my... books, they're great but you can get lovely books much cheaper.

HopefullyAnonymous · 04/06/2020 13:47

@PolPotNoodle is Charlotte’s magic cream worth it? I’m forever longing for it but reluctant to shell out unless it really is that good!

Magickl · 04/06/2020 13:47

Perfume.

LakeTittyHaHa · 04/06/2020 13:48

Any flea/worming treatment for pets. So eye wateringly expensive!

isthismylifenow · 04/06/2020 13:49

Razor blades
Anything GHD
Salon shampoo
Butter
Lego
Jo Malone
Cars

But i also noticed that cauliflower is ridiculously priced now. I think it is since the banting and keto diets became more popular.

NoRoomInBed · 04/06/2020 13:49

Schleich "toys" even 2nd hand on Ebay

sqirrelfriends · 04/06/2020 13:50

tomee tippee nappy bin refills. Shockingly expensive.

Nespresso pods, I wouldn't buy them anyway but I was shocked at how much DH was spending to take them to work.

Iamblossom · 04/06/2020 13:51

candles

PrettyTricky · 04/06/2020 13:51

Estée Lauder. Problem is, I'm scared to stop the entire regime now in case my face suddenly collapses. Grin

MrsToothyBitch · 04/06/2020 13:52

Kitchen bins
Prescription glasses
Printer ink, which I suspect contains rocking horse shit at that price
Vitamins (severe vit D deficiency here, costs me a small fortune)
Condoms
Hair products
Razors- I buy men's ones & they're still pricey
Grom ice cream Sad

Cabinfever10 · 04/06/2020 13:53

Convers they are just a £5 deck shoes with a label yet cost £40-£70 a pair Shock

I am not in the UK but there are many unhappy folk here as to the new increased pricing of these during lock down. I bought the unbranded ones as refused to pay that price for a box of 10.

GuiltyBark · 04/06/2020 13:53

Cheddar cheese. Over 5 quid for a largeish block of crappy cathedral city? Fortunately there's usually an offer on but it's baffled me why it's so expensive compared to other cheeses.when it's the most basic in some respects.

MrsToothyBitch · 04/06/2020 13:53

@PrettyTricky allbeauty.com mighty save you some ££.

Also: teabags are ridiculously priced, too.

WaffleCash · 04/06/2020 13:54

I was in Asda yesterday and was surprised to learn that Tilda basmati rice is nearly £6
a kilo

This was my substitution win with Tescos, ordered own brand got Tilda which was more than double the price.

Slightly leftfield but any shape water butt other than bog standard - 20 quid for big round barrel, 200 quid for one that's a slightly different shape. They're both just moulded plastic.

TeapotCollection · 04/06/2020 13:56

Baileys

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/06/2020 13:56

Sparkly bikinis.
