John Lewis do an eighty five pound laundry basket.

justasking111 · 06/06/2020 22:05

Brabantia bins.

SparklesAllOver · 06/06/2020 22:09

Our local shop was charging £2.85 for a little cauliflower!

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 06/06/2020 22:35

Glasses. If they can make and sell reading glasses for £1 in poundland, why on earth are my distance ones so expensive? It's not like I've chosen to have poor eyesight, I need them.

goose1964 · 06/06/2020 22:50

Off topic but we had a mouse squatting in our garage and all it ate was a bit of the curd on a cauliflower, a nibble on an aubergine and a bit of some pasta. Perhaps they put something in the caulis.

Itsjustmee · 06/06/2020 23:08

French Bulldogs
For a dog that’s bloody part terrier and as far as I’m aware doesn’t even come from France originally 😂 they are eye watering expensive
Anything from £2000 - £5000 upwards with some being advertised at £10,000
And don’t get me started on insurance for them It’s a postcode lottery as to what it will cost you to insure them

Lightbulbs I’m sure I remember getting a lightbulb for a £

They don't need much unfortunately.

AHippoNamedBooBooButt try one of the on line sites.

Mine were £9

Just put your prescription in and choose your frames

Kitchen bins!

sqirrelfriends · 07/06/2020 14:07

Fabric - I wanted some heavyweight fabric to make some curtains but it was cheaper to buy them made.

PuppyMonkey · 07/06/2020 14:19

I bought some of those Mahabi slippers once as someone on here reckoned they lasted a lifetime - £75 and they got holes in them after 6 months of wear.

I also think bras and underwear generally is eye-wateringly expensive.

@SkaterGrrrrl

John Lewis do an eighty five pound laundry basket.
Does it hover and self-remove to the washing machine where it obligingly self-sorts to your preference and load the machine?
LaDonnaDellaCasa · 07/06/2020 22:38

Cantarella Sugarly
Great for baking DH being diabetic but for goodness sakes it’s a bit of aspartame or whatever - do they need to charge about 8 times the price of normal granulated sugar?

SERIOUSLYConfused if anyone has any cheaper suggestions let me know!!!

mrsBtheparker · 07/06/2020 22:50

Replacement batteries for cordless appliances, I think some people blissfully buying cordless stuff will get a shock when they eventually need to replace the batteries.

mrsBtheparker · 07/06/2020 22:54

Those including the price of vegetables and eggs should try other suppliers than supermarkets, we pay £1.40 fror a dozen lovely eggs from a farm, never had a supply problem either.

Frauhubert · 08/06/2020 00:04

Thrush tablets and creams
Olive oil
Coconut oil
Nuts
Washing liquid
Drain unblocking liquid
Delivery charges, today I decided no to order something because standard delivery was £4.99, not even a courier.
I also sell a lot of stuff online and a cost for sending a small parcel in the post office seem to rise by 10pence every half a year, I think in 2025 you’ll pay a tenner to send a book

Thelnebriati · 08/06/2020 00:35

Its not just that the post office is pretty expensive, its that if your package is 5mm too wide you end up paying over £3 instead of 88p.

professionalnomad · 08/06/2020 10:27

Curtains!

Those specified widths are not accidental.

I was recently sending some cards to friends, where I included some jelly sweets. I put the envelopes under a 30kg weight for a couple of days to flatten them enough to fit into the cheaper size. Sweets still tasted yummy I'm told!

beachmist · 08/06/2020 12:58

Pistachios!

IntermittentParps · 08/06/2020 14:32

beachmist God yes. Nuts generally, actually. Pine nuts are currently about £8 for a small tray in a corner shop near me. I just can't bring myself to hand over that much money.

beachmist · 08/06/2020 15:56

@IntermittentParps that is unbelievable! Loving your username Grin

IntermittentParps · 08/06/2020 15:59

Thanks!

LadyEloise · 11/06/2020 21:54

Sun cream - thank goodness for the likes of Aldi and Lidl.

just1think2 · 11/06/2020 22:51
