Am I unusual to want to remain childfree?!

Just that really, I’m mid 30s, have two SS who are 8 and 10, I enjoy my relationship with them, I have been in their lives since they were 2 & 3. I enjoy spending family time with them but also love the times when it’s just my partner and I. I have never imagined having my own biological children yet people often comment that I ll regret this or if I enjoy being a stepmum why don’t I have my ‘own’.

Surely it’s ok to enjoy being a stepmum without wanting to be a biological mum 24/7?!

In other words - please don't patronise me. I don't need a pat on the head. Thanks.

Ok... your comment that your decision not to have children was the right one because of what’s going on right now is supremely goady.

There are constant reasons to worry and be afraid and large level horror and disruption happening all the time I could equally say to you that if this is the first time you’ve suffered inconvenience then congratulations.

I get emotions are high right now but please take a breath and see that my comment was well intentioned.
