to think Irish PM Leo Varadkar should hold a press conference to explain why he flouted his own lockdown rules?

One rule for politicians and another for the plebs?

OP posts:

I googled and found the answer:
"Topless-Irish-Taoiseach-Leo-Varadkar-caught-having-picnic."

🤔... 😂😂😂

He hasn't done anything wrong or broken any rules

Sailorsgirl44 · 25/05/2020 18:35

He didn't break any guidelines. He is currently living within five k and was in a group of 4.

It's disappointing how this crisis has really enabled people to be nasty and criticise others. So easy to point out supposed faults in others.

Joolsin · 25/05/2020 18:36

He hasn't broken any rules - it's a false story. Our lockdown was eased last Monday, 18th. You can meet up to 4 other people outside, within 5km of where you're living, as long as you maintain social distancing. Leo was photographed in the Phoenix Park, beside where he has been living since lockdown began.

LumaLou · 25/05/2020 18:36

I don’t think he broke the rules over there.

switswoo81 · 25/05/2020 18:38

Up to 4 people can meet outside in Ireland. Photos are unclear but I would think they are distanced.

No deaths in Ireland at all today.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/05/2020 18:39

What rules did he break OP?

sammylady37 · 25/05/2020 18:43

He didn’t break the current Irish guidelines.
Also, it would be nice if you could refer to him as the Taoiseach, rather than “the Irish PM” as that is his official title. Us Irish folk don’t refer to Boris as “the British Taoiseach”, we use his official title.

He didn't break any rules

kenandbarbie · 25/05/2020 18:47

He didn't break the rules, he was within 5 km of his residence and was in a socially distanced group of 4. As per the current guidelines.

ShiveringCoyote · 25/05/2020 18:49

Well this backfired.

EmeraldShamrock · 25/05/2020 18:51

He lives in the Phoenix park was within 5km. Oh OP you really need to check you have the right info before you start a thread.

Sakura7 · 25/05/2020 18:52

Oh dear OP, are you under the impression that Ireland is part of the UK and therefore living under the same rules?

As has already been pointed out, our lockdown was eased on Monday.

LucyRipley · 25/05/2020 18:54

Nonsense post - he's not broken any rules. Oh and @Hypocraticoats it's taoiseach not "the Irish PM".

Maestro7 · 25/05/2020 18:55

What rule has he broken? He met 2 friends outdoors within 5km of his home and socially distanced.

inisfree · 25/05/2020 18:55

Leo did not break any rules. Thankfully no deaths recorded today. Feeling grateful for leadership that Leo and Simon "cop on" Harris has provided ☘️

Maestro7 · 25/05/2020 18:56

People seem to have most issue with how he took his top off. I don’t remember reading ‘must be fully clothed at all times’ in the covid rules...

Hermagsjesty · 25/05/2020 18:56

He quite clearly didn’t break the rules as they are in Ireland though, did he? If he had done, of course he should apologise.

AngelaScandal · 25/05/2020 18:57

We have U.K. channels here. We see you Dominic.

bellinisurge · 25/05/2020 18:57

Not the Irish PM. Get it right. Also, the bloke who played Jason Bourne called him a badass. That should be enough to excuse him having a picnic which he had within social distancing rules.

VenusOfWillendorf · 25/05/2020 18:58

He and his partner met with two friends within 5km of where he lives. All permitted - wheres the problem ? Confused Hmm

Joolsin · 25/05/2020 18:59

Feeling grateful for leadership that Leo and Simon "cop on" Harris has provided ☘️

Totally!

Therealjudgejudy · 25/05/2020 19:00

Op...get your facts right

AngelaScandal · 25/05/2020 19:03

I never thought I’d be grateful to a Fine Gael government...

pandarific · 25/05/2020 19:05

You idiot 😂
