to think Irish PM Leo Varadkar should hold a press conference to explain why he flouted his own lockdown rules?

One rule for politicians and another for the plebs?

OP posts:

@Hypocraticoats. Most importantly he is the Taoiseach, 2nd as others have stated but I feel the need to reiterate he did not break any rules.

Why would you start a thread that is factually incorrect? People just jump on the bandwagon to be outraged. I am proud how our Taoiseach has handled the crisis to date.

AvocaLove · 25/05/2020 19:09

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh you have given me a good giggle OP.

miaows · 25/05/2020 19:15

As we say in Ireland scarlet for ya.

To be fair to the OP, s/he probably started the thread having read and believed the "story" in the Daily M**l this afternoon. The headline and article are completely skewed, and the homophobia, xenophobia and anti-Irish sentiment in the comments section are truly vile.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/05/2020 19:19

They either joined up or NC'd to do it too.GrinBlush

Doesn't surprise me at all.
To the name callers on the thread, why? OP read it in a UK paper no need to call names it is not like she made up the story.

Insideallday · 25/05/2020 19:20

@Joolsin fair enough, I didn’t see the DM article.

Insideallday · 25/05/2020 19:24

I’ve just read the DM article, the comments section is scary, the most liked comment is a Londoner calling for him to resign, crazy!

Joolsin · 25/05/2020 20:19

@Insideallday it's a shocker alright.

isadoradancing123 · 25/05/2020 20:44

Ffs he didnt break any rules

Anoisagusaris · 25/05/2020 20:47

@miaows

In a full-on Dub accent - ‘and yer ma for having ya’. 🤣

Love when a thread backfires on the OP.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/05/2020 20:48

The shills are getting more and more desperate.Grin

gabsdot45 · 25/05/2020 20:57

Where can I find these photos of Leo with his top off that you speak of.
I was in the Phoenix park last Wednesday.

Maybe they're hopeful if Varadkar resigns he will be available to come and run the UK?

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/05/2020 21:10

Rdoo😂😂😂

Piglet89 · 25/05/2020 21:34

OP has disappeared I see.

Frankly, Varadkar would have had to disembowel a whole litter of cute puppies to distract from the shitshow Boris and chums are running right now.

JaneJeffer · 25/05/2020 21:34

People seem to have most issue with how he took his top off

maresydoats · 25/05/2020 21:34

LOL at the op, sorry but I did.

But presumably op is one of those who think Ireland is part of UK! The Irish PM, omg. Common mistake by many unfortunately.

Anyway, no deaths today, cases reducing greatly (I do realise ROI has a lower population than UK or should I say England).

Leo Varadker and his team have performed brilliantly so far. Solid firm messages, and a very clear roadmap to re opening the country. I am so proud to have so much Irish blood. I could weep for the UK though.

Xenia · 25/05/2020 21:37

In England it is not really the done thing to take your top off in a park but perhaps Ireland is different.

Mind you Boris J was over 17 stone when he went into hospital with CV so is not a pretty sight undressed.

AngelaScandal · 25/05/2020 21:45

Xenia having lived opposite a large London park for many years I would categorically disagree with you. Saw many a dodgy tattoo.

Pomegranatemolasses · 25/05/2020 21:49

Yes Xenia Ireland is full of savages who have no idea how to behave Hmm

sawollya · 25/05/2020 21:53

Did he though? They were outside and there were only four of them.

Four people are allowed to meet outside now.

One of his buddies seemed to be trying to tuck something in to the waistband of his shorts though

sawollya · 25/05/2020 21:54

Also,ireland had zero deaths today!

I think he deserved a beer.

I used to think he was a right wing tosser but he's handled this situation well
