Seems the Cummings family were telling the truth about Durham police - they gave advice about security matters not coronavirus,

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 16:15

Identical evil twin who is having an affair with his wife :)

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 16:15

Is he going to bottle it? After going the full Rose Garden?

The statement from Durham police:

An updated statement from Durham police:

Following significant public interest over the last few days, Durham Constabulary wish to add the following to our statement of Saturday, May 23rd.

We can confirm that on April 1, an officer from Durham Constabulary spoke to the father of Dominic Cummings. Mr Cummings confirmed that his son, his son’s wife and child were present at the property. He told the officer that his son and son’s wife were displaying symptoms of coronavirus and were self-isolating in part of the property.

We can further confirm that our officer gave no specific advice on coronavirus to any members of the family and that Durham Constabulary deemed that no further action was required in that regard.

Our officer did, however, provide the family with advice on security issues.

It was all a dream?

Clavinova

Seems the Cummings family were telling the truth about Durham police - they gave advice about security matters not coronavirus,

The polices original statement said that they gave advice about travel restrictions. Seems like they have been pressured into changing it to suit Cummings version.
That is disturbing.

Ulver · 25/05/2020 16:18

The police are furious about the behaviour of Cummings. I’m guessing he’s been threatening them to tow the line as is his usual bullying style. Let’s see how that pans out long term for him.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:18

@Clavinova who said that the police have DC advice on coronavirus?

ListeningQuietly · 25/05/2020 16:19

If you are showing symptoms STAY AT HOME
Its not tricky.
But Dom is a thicky

Ulver · 25/05/2020 16:20

It is clear he has broken the rules. It could not be clearer. I cannot think of a worse example of a breach of the lockdown rules. For it then to be defended by the government just beggars belief.”
Barton said the rules were clear: that anyone with symptoms of coronavirus should not leave their home.
“What is particularly sad and undermines completely the government position is they seem to be operating in a bubble of self-privilege and denial when they all should be leading by example. ‘Hypocrite’ was invented for these circumstances … Of course it is double standards.”

Durham Police

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 25/05/2020 16:20

Still displaying the contempt they hold the public in by scheduling a press conference for 4pm and still not having turned up at 4.20

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 16:20

Police are probably going to have their own internal inquiry into this shit. Terrible waste of time and resources in the middle of a National catastrophe!

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:20

"Grant Shapps said the conversation Mr Cummings’ father had with Durham Constabulary did not relate to his son’s travel from London."

"He said: “I think it was, in fact, Mr Cummings’ father who contacted the police, not the other way round."

“And it was in reference to security advice, which you’ll appreciate the family don’t want to go into–not about this specific issue.”

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:20

I thought that too @NoMore

Let’s hope there’s last minute pressure on his to resign

Ulver · 25/05/2020 16:21

On 31 March, Robert Cummings contacted someone who he knew had details of a senior officer in the Durham force, and that senior officer arranged for Special Branch to contact Cummings’s father. During that call, advice was given by the Special Branch officer on both security and physical distancing under lockdown rules.
The Durham force is understood to have been dismayed by a Downing Street statement on Saturday which wrongly claimed police had not spoken to anyone from the Cummings family about his journey from London.

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2020 16:22

Is it happening

Ulver · 25/05/2020 16:22

There is going to be an investigation by the police into his movements as Durham voters are not happy with this.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:24

Maybe he’s not coming. The iron vein has worn out.

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 25/05/2020 16:24

He's not been arsed to turn up yet stealth. He should be fucking grovelling to the public. Instead he's continuing to treat them like shit.

SophieB100 · 25/05/2020 16:26

This is outrageous! Stealth has a BBQ to plan for Grin

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 16:26

Excellent and clear as always from the Secret Barrister

JamieLeeCurtains · 25/05/2020 16:27

The Cummings family wanted special treatment around 'security'.

Dom knows the 'optics' of that.

itsgettingweird · 25/05/2020 16:28

TBF he actually only needed to isolate for 7 days once he had symptoms.

So day 1 MW shows symptoms
At that point DC and his son were on 14 day isolation.

If DC showed symptoms the day after MW he had to isolate for 7 days from then.

The 14 days was only for anyone who had been in contact. Just in case they showed symptoms due to the incubation period.

Even BJ seemed to miss that point last night.

But I don't want to give him a defence so I'll shut up now Grin
