New thread to continue previous one, hope you don't mind original OP!

Sorry I have been cross posting.

I just felt that he built it up a lot at the start of the statement to give us an expectation that he was about to reveal some extraordinary circumstance that would make us all think he was totally justified but I didn’t hear him do that big reveal.

Snowjive2 · 25/05/2020 17:50

Agreed, OP.

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 25/05/2020 17:51

I hink hes vague about it because he doesn't know what else the mirror/ Guardian have got

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 17:51

Alistair Campbell saying if you live in London, you have access to central unit who look after you. No need to travel to Durham for security.

SophieB100 · 25/05/2020 17:51

The nieces could have been driven by the aunt, under exceptional circumstances, to travel.

They could have been picked up and driven by a hired driver, a driver from DS.

A nanny/nurse could have been hired.

God, they think we're bloody stupid.

MaxNormal · 25/05/2020 17:54

I don't believe for a second that his home was being targeted in March. The recent heckling over the weekend just gave him that additional lie to add to his repertoire.

dialmformmmm · 25/05/2020 17:55

Should've gone to Specsavers

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 17:55

@derxa so instead they exposed an entire hospital when they took their son to hospital

@SophieB100 would it be worth starting a new thread and linking this one? Thanks Smile

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 17:56

SophieB100 Wish you could have asked your question, it's an important one.

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 17:57

I'd be up for a second thread? Smile

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 17:57

Third thread, @Flies. Keep up Wink

Ulver · 25/05/2020 17:58

Why didn’t have a driver, why didn’t he have a nanny?
Why didn’t he consult Boris? Why didn’t he consult security services? Why didn’t he get tested?
This govt is operating at below third world level.

SophieB100 · 25/05/2020 17:59

But Dom said the nieces were low risk and they were happy to help. So how does a driver, picking them up and dropping them off add to their risk? They could have stayed in a separate room at the Cummings house? They could have stayed nearby arranged by DS. Then if not needed, they could have returned home.

We're not talking about a normal family situation here - we're talking about a couple who have staff and available help on tap - they should have stayed put and got on with it. They did all this in case something might happen. Pathetic.

LakieLady · 25/05/2020 18:00

*Yes derxa but other people with second homes were not allowed to travel to them

Unless they were the.PMs father or the.royal family hmm*

Or Robert Jenrick MP.

YouTheCat · 25/05/2020 18:02

And yet people will be taken in by his lies and it'll all blow over and then we're stuck with this shower of people who Johnson has brought in who like a bit of eugenics.

Peregrina · 25/05/2020 18:03

That would have put all of these people's lives at risk.

In what way, if neither driver nor niece had Covid? Or no more than Cummings did when he was driving up and probably stopping at a service station. Which the Police would be able to check.

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 18:03

Third thread, @FliesandPies*

Blimey! Shock

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 18:04

I don't think so cat people are really really angry and upset - it is a focal point of the whole CV crisis

However, we've got his statement - in and of itself a breach of the relevant Public Service Protocol.

What really matters now is whether Bozo listens to the vast majority that do not accept that he did anything but flagrantly breach the rules, that the Public who have gone through hell, are still going through hell, adhering to the guidelines, except for the ones who are saying if it's good enough for ol' comings and goings then it's good enough for me to say fuck it all to lockdown, the NHS staff who are furious at his flagrant breaches and breathtaking arrogance, to the police who have had their job of policing the lock down made a million times harder, and does the unthinkable, and turns on his master and drives him from his house. . .

itsgettingweird · 25/05/2020 18:12

"There were no taxis" gulp a drink "so I went....."

That itself body language wise shows that point was a lie.
