New thread to continue previous one, hope you don't mind original OP!

Just posting this link from another thread (hope poster doesn’t mind). It’s an interesting possibility.

YouTheCat · 25/05/2020 15:56

The reviews for Barnard Castle on trip advisor are very funny .

BGD2012 · 25/05/2020 15:57

I cant even watch it. I'm not outspoken politically but I feel they are playing the public for fools. I will read here for updates though.

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 15:58

Barnard castle is not on the way back

It sort of is - I'm not sure driving a slightly longer route is a sackable offence.

thisenglishlife · 25/05/2020 16:00

I think it's fair to say that whatever he does it will be wrong just because it's Dominic Cummings.
I don't care what he has done in the past, others have had to resign for lesser reasons. He broke his own guidelines and could well have infected people with corona virus.

He really seems like he doesn't care and that he thinks he knows better.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:00

@Clavinova not going to answer why he was walking on a river path then?

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:02

I bet DC regrets commenting on the blue bells now Grin

Ulver · 25/05/2020 16:02

If the police lose control of the streets due to the lockdown being flouted it will be on Cummings door.

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:02

StormzyinaTCup
Certainly interesting.

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:03

Daily exercise?

ProudMarys · 25/05/2020 16:03

My heart really goes out to those families staying away. Not even being able to say goodbye to loved ones because the had the virus. This must really hurt them and the NHS working so hard. Is he above everyone living in an ivory tower?

dialmformmmm · 25/05/2020 16:04

The Scottish advisor resigned for less.

Is DC above everyone?

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:04

@Clavinova whilst he was supposed to be ‘hunkered down’?

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:04

I bet DC regrets commenting on the blue bells now

That was supposed to be on the 19th April - on a return trip to Durham.

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:05

whilst he was supposed to be ‘hunkered down’?

Past the 14 days in any case.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:05

I referred to the blue bells because the Tripadvisor reviews mention them!

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 25/05/2020 16:06

I think cummings will play the victim and go for the sympathy vote. I also think that anything other than a resignation will damage boris further

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:06

But Downing St said he was ‘hunkered down’ throughout.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 16:06

Why do political people like fields?!
Wheat fields, blue bell woods!
They love a field

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:07

Sky News saying get wasn’t ‘home’ when police knocked on his door. Very convenient.

Clavinova · 25/05/2020 16:09

But Downing St said he was ‘hunkered down’ throughout.

He obviously recovered at some point.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 16:10

At which point he should have got in his car and gone straight home.

YouTheCat · 25/05/2020 16:11

That's irrelevant. He shouldn't have been travelling that distance regardless of his reasons.

SophieB100 · 25/05/2020 16:11

@NoMoreReluctantCustodians
Serves Johnson right - he should have sacked him. I've got nothing but contempt for the pair of them.

OP posts:
FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 16:14

So he's clearly not going to resign then? Or they would just have put out a statement on that? I just can't think of anything he can say that will stop the anger against him??
