New thread to continue previous one, hope you don't mind original OP!

Why should the cash strapped la look after a family who have the resources to get help without cost!

ViciousJackdaw · 24/05/2020 18:17

I hope so! We need pictures!

And a diagram!

SharonasCorona · 24/05/2020 18:17

Silly q, but who pays DC’s salary? Presumably the tax payer?

SharonasCorona · 24/05/2020 18:18

And a diagram!

Haha! We needed a mumsnetter to ask for this during the briefing!

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/05/2020 18:18

Woo! We're going down to Devon.
Woo, when I get a bad cough.
Woo, the kids will have a great time.
Paddling and swimming in the sea.

BoingBoingyBoing · 24/05/2020 18:19

"Or stay put and maybe both parents get bedridden and unable to draw breath or care for a child at all? Especially if the child becomes seriously unwell. What would they do then?"

The same as the rest of us?

Besides which, do you SERIOUSLY think that a senior government official living in london would have had no way of getting help if he had stayed put? He's got family living round the fucking corner for a start!

BoingBoingyBoing · 24/05/2020 18:19

Presumably the tax payer?

Yup.

StopGo · 24/05/2020 18:20

Perhaps Johnson and Cummings could explain to my DC why they and I were denied access to their DF as he was terminally ill (non-coved) and he died alone and frightened?

Utter contempt, do as I say not as I do.

SharonasCorona · 24/05/2020 18:20

Especially with DC’s best friend and brother in law also in London.

SharonasCorona · 24/05/2020 18:21

Sorry meant to say ‘good’ friend not best.

SouthernComforts · 24/05/2020 18:21

BBC just showed a tweet from the verified civil service account slating Boris & co. Someone's getting sacked tonight but sadly it won't be Dominic

The80sweregreat · 24/05/2020 18:21

BBC news. A tweet from the civil service department was taken down , but it said ' how can you trust these truth twisters'!
Tory MPs are spitting feathers.
Dom keeps his job and I am really furious 😡
What was the point of lockdown ?

JacobReesMogadishu · 24/05/2020 18:21

I feel sorry for the Scottish medical officer woman.

What she did wasn’t as bad because she wasn’t symptomatic.

After all if you’re allowed to use your judgement then isolating in house B up the road is no different to isolating in house A where you already are. 🤷‍♀️🙈

At least she had the decency eventually to go....and she isn’t even a career politician.

Tavannach · 24/05/2020 18:21

from Twitter

PM's press conference not going down well with his flock. One senior Tory MP who has been very supportive of PM thus far. "It's Boris' "nothing has changed moment. My emails are exploding with rage."

I'm just about to email my MP.
Let them feel the true extent of the real rage about this.

AnyFucker · 24/05/2020 18:22

My "instinct" is that I can travel to my holiday home. I can social distance very easily there and since Covid symptoms appear gradually I will come home and not put local NHS services under extra pressure if I become unwell

This has always been clear to me but, like a good little pleb, I followed the govt advice

So angry

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 24/05/2020 18:22

And contacts in high places

Inoneminute · 24/05/2020 18:22

Wasn't it all about groceries, not childcare this morning with poor old Shapps?

BoingBoingyBoing · 24/05/2020 18:23

"PM's press conference not going down well with his flock. One senior Tory MP who has been very supportive of PM thus far. "It's Boris' "nothing has changed moment. My emails are exploding with rage."

All these apparently pissed off MP's need to grow some fucking balls and say so publically. It's absolutely zero fucking use for them to privately text journalists.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/05/2020 18:23

Well if course he's staying BoJos cock isn't gonna suck it's self.

SophieB100 · 24/05/2020 18:23

@RoosterPie
Sorry to hear you have been in maternity triage, glad all is well. Take care. I started the new thread because we were all waiting for the briefing, and running out of thread! So glad you don't mind. Flowers

SharonasCorona · 24/05/2020 18:27

That tweet is epic.

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/05/2020 18:29

Anyfucker, do you have CV19 symptoms and children? Because that's what you have to have in order for your decision to be sensible and defendable, according to the PM.Shock

If you don't have any symptoms, going to your holiday home would be considered silly and indefensible.Hmm

The80sweregreat · 24/05/2020 18:30

Epic tweet indeed. Taken down really quickly.

HeIenaDove · 24/05/2020 18:31

What an absolute fucking farce!
