Refund refused: right or not?

So this lot arrived from TK Maxx, splintered. I ask for my money back, pointing out that the other stuff in the order was fine.

TK lose the original email with all the pix, I resend the pic I've got left, see below.

Ask timidly again - TK say 'we need more evidence', want pictures 'to show damage' 'for our auditors'.

YABU = how dare you suggest these plates are faulty you greedy cow

I don't understand why you would clear everything out? For only 90p each, best forget about it, not worth the time chasing it (and there's now no evidence, so very unlikely you'd get anywhere)

In the “old days” I had an issue with a mail order company. I kept photocopies of correspondence and proof of posting of the items I was sending back until it was resolved. It would have been stupid to have just binned the items and not kept the paperwork.

There is no difference in the age of modern technology.

I had to send the plates back the shop when mine arrived damaged, not denby.
