Hopefully a bit of an uplifting thread where we can focus on the positives among the many negatives.

I've managed to learn how to do a handstand! I've never in my life been able to do one, even as a child but I can now after many many fails.

Anyone else managed to achieve anything? Small or big

Well not a huge amount (unless you count my expanding arse!). But I like hearing of people tackling a new skill or project!

Farheatarse · 13/05/2020 18:04

Garden has never looked so good..

Rediscovered my childhood hobby of origami!

GrapefruitGin · 13/05/2020 18:04

Not a huge amount! Have spent my time volunteering at local hospital supporting nhs staff. I did bake banana bread for the first time (who hasn’t!)

HelloMissus · 13/05/2020 18:05

I’m a writer so I’ve got a lot done - but not as much as when I’ve got the place to myself.

LightenUpSummer · 13/05/2020 18:06

I've discovered a beautiful tree-lined path through a large park I've been going to for years, that I never knew was there. I wouldn't probably have found it if not for my government-approved long daily walk Grin

Flippinfurloughed · 13/05/2020 18:06

I’ve organised my carrier bags and read 3 books!

Yearcat13 · 13/05/2020 18:07

I lost a stone, walk 10 miles a day and got lots of writing projects completed. Realised I'm great at being alone and am eating far better as the only local shops are from farms and the harbour. Reconnected with nature and discovered podcasts.

Ellisandra · 13/05/2020 18:08

I’ve achieved my normal full time job, plus extra busy in that as a result of Covid19, plus I’ve written lessons (school been rubbish) and taught my child, and they’re happy. No time for much else!

PatchworkElmer · 13/05/2020 18:08

I ran 125km last month! I’ve also learned how to do my own waxing, and am about to attempt tinting my eyebrows 😬😬😬

SusieSusieSoo · 13/05/2020 18:09

I've organised the kitchen drawer and cleared all the random piles of paper out of the living room, kitchen and mug cupboard and sewn on all the beaver badges. I've also weeded approx 1 metre of flower bed and written a huge jobs list which is just sitting there looking at me!

Mucklowe · 13/05/2020 18:10

Despite feeling kind of despondent, I've managed to make some decent progress on my PhD thesis, plus some editing projects. I've also grown a baby to 24 weeks so far!

Littleshortcake · 13/05/2020 18:10

I've learned how to do a shellac. Will save me a small fortune. Also feel the dc are progressing with reading etc with all the extra time we have. Would love to lose a stone. Well done !!! Amazing

KayDog · 13/05/2020 18:12

Toilet trained my daughter, thought it would never happen so such a relief!

Ilets · 13/05/2020 18:14

I've held down about 3 jobs at once and haven't yet had a total breakdown

1Morewineplease · 13/05/2020 18:14

Well done all of you! They all sound wonderful.

My now enlarged belly has proved very useful in balancing my new found crochet work.
I’ve raised loads of seedlings and plants and my toilets almost gleam ( almost!)

I’ve also recently discovered ‘Silent Witness’ which I’d never watched before.

Voxx · 13/05/2020 18:15

-Read 15 books
-Done yoga or Pilates daily
-Been for a run at least 4 x a week
-Achieved defined abs!
-Completed 3 online courses as part of my CPD
-Generally kept on top of homeschooing kept us all sane!

I’m not trying to sound smug. As someone with a history of eating disorders that get worse when I’m anxious, I’ve had to find ways to distract myself as I feared my mental health would nosedive. The exercise in particular has really helped me.

1Morewineplease · 13/05/2020 18:15

Sorry ... just realised that you said “achievement.”

Bugger.

funinthesun19 · 13/05/2020 18:16

I’ve made my back garden look really lovely.
My next task is to redecorate the bathroom.

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/05/2020 18:17

I’ve brushed the cat every day, which has significantly reduced fur balls.

Purplegorilla · 13/05/2020 18:17

Op I've been attempting to do a handstand for ages but I have no upper body strength sadly, any tips? @bananachocolatepancake

megletthesecond · 13/05/2020 18:18

Nothing. I'm currently thinking I'm doing well if the previous weekends pizza baking trays are washed up in time for the next weekends saturday pizza. I've managed it once Grin.

KoalasandRabbit · 13/05/2020 18:18

I've been helping DS learn 1 to 1 as he's ASD so a lot of finding different material, researching subject myself to make it adaptable to him. Music he refuses at school so I've started listen with cat and just started relationship poetry with cat, another subject he doesn't like. The cat is very helpful, this morning I said cat it's your music lesson and DS said come on cat and she came sat completely upright on a stool with ears enlarged listening to the music.

We've also got 3 silkie chickens and been looking after them. DD has painted her room. Both children have cooked new things. We read news together and have done some topics together like history of our village, South Sea bubble and Tulipmania.

Dinnertime22 · 13/05/2020 18:18

Glossed the bannister rail.

NeverForgetYourDreams · 13/05/2020 18:19

Running for 28 minutes when 8 weeks ago I vomited when tried to run for 1 minute

TheGriffle · 13/05/2020 18:20

Not me but dd who is 7 has finally learned how to ride her bike after 2 years on and off trying and her giving up because she found it too hard. I’m so proud of her!
