Hopefully a bit of an uplifting thread where we can focus on the positives among the many negatives.

I've managed to learn how to do a handstand! I've never in my life been able to do one, even as a child but I can now after many many fails.

Anyone else managed to achieve anything? Small or big

I bleached my (vinyl) kitchen floors. On my knees scrubbing. Look good as new now (and didn't realise how disgusting they had become - I'm ditching my steam cleaner)! My daughter organised all the kitchen cupboards (oldest item: mustard seeds use by date of March 2013). She put stuff back in date order and now I can see at a glance what we have. My son (and this is a miracle) cleaned his room and the games room top to bottom. He's even started making his bed! House still looks cluttered but we are making slow progress...

GuppytheCat · 13/05/2020 18:21

I too have brushed the cat.

Next up, the dog.

The teenagers are a lost hope, hairwise.

HelenaJustina · 13/05/2020 18:22

As a family we have achieved; painted the playroom ceiling, painted the downstairs loo, painted master bedroom, painted dining room, fitted a large light fitting in a double height space, garden is tidy, cleared out a few cupboards, home schooled 4 DC, and I’ve worked outside the home for most of the time! Sounds like quite a lot really!

zscaler · 13/05/2020 18:23

I’m currently growing a baby, not sure if that counts as a lockdown achievement but I haven’t been up to much else Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 13/05/2020 18:23

Given up alcohol (32 days alcohol free) after drinking too much for too long.
Got back up to being able to run 2.5miles at a time. Aiming for 3 miles a day next week.

Tumbledryer1 · 13/05/2020 18:24

I asked my husband to find a new hobby - so he chose cocktail making!! 😂 I’m having a great time 👍

Merryoldgoat · 13/05/2020 18:26

I’ve restored 2 pieces of furniture I’ve been meaning to for ages and have another on the go.

I’ve made several blankets for babies who will be here in the next few months and deep cleaned my (apparently filthy!) kitchen.

Oh. And I’ve got through a case of Prosecco and a litre of gin 👍🏽

RhiWrites · 13/05/2020 18:26

I started teaching Zumba online! I’ve also done another Zumba training course and I’ve learnt a lot of new recipes - so it’s just as well I’m dancing!

Nosuchluck · 13/05/2020 18:27

Watched 3 Russian very long box sets.
Dyed my roots a few times.
Done a lot of Joe Wicks and now progressed to his HIT videos.
Tidied one cupboard (I was going to do one a day).
Put on half a stone!

Nanalisa60 · 13/05/2020 18:27

JuneJuly · 13/05/2020 18:30

YANBU

...& nothing.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 13/05/2020 18:30

Lost an inch over the waistGrin (4th week going now) and re discovered my love of cooking!

Skigal86 · 13/05/2020 18:30

We’ve done the garden up, which sounds more impressive than it is! We pressure washed some slabs, moved a few around, levelled an area and laid some fake grass!

I’m doing an online sign language course and I’m planning to do lots of CPD over the next few weeks (I’m a teacher).

I’d like to read more but I’m shattered by the time the baby’s in bed!

Snozzlemaid · 13/05/2020 18:30

Read more books than I have for quite sometime.
Got better at crochet. I've made a few blankets now which I've loved having the time to concentrate on.
Re-bonded with my ds22 who is also working from home. It's been nice to spend so much time with him again.
Meal planning so we're eating better.

EmbarrassedUser · 13/05/2020 18:31

Lost 15lbs. Started a walking challenge at work and have been walking between 8.5-11.1 thousand steps a day. Been painting the house.

Skigal86 · 13/05/2020 18:32

@zscaler creating a whole new person is a pretty big lockdown project!

Minecraftmadness · 13/05/2020 18:32

I can touch my toes for the first time ever with daily stretching with DD!
Have got back into running as DH has dragged me out a few times when our lunch breaks coincide but not achieved much improvement!
Nearly caught up with PTA finances.
Still not fully shifted the nits Angry

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/05/2020 18:33

Planted my little meadow.
Eaten courgette and liked it (thank you Mindful Chef)
Set up a local The Hygiene Bank project (very early days)

Bigpaintinglittlepainting · 13/05/2020 18:36

In between working three days a week and homeschooling 3dc I’ve picked up the guitar again and really made progress! Its really helped me feel like I’m not just here to serve everyone else

I have watched 50+ movies. There are 4 of us and we rotate who chooses the movie for 7pm. We all have to watch the movie we might not usually like so I've finally watched the Star Wars movies (DH's choice) and so much Disney (DD's choices).

I've shared loads of great 80s classics like Bill and Ted and Big.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 13/05/2020 18:47

I’ve lost 9lbs and read some books. Kept us all alive. That’s it, I’m mostly knackered!

bridgetreilly · 13/05/2020 18:48

Sorted out the garden.
Changed broadband provider.
Made some clothes.

Mostly, that's because I had the 2nd week of lockdown booked as annual leave and I took it. The rest of the time I've been working and life hasn't changed all that much. I certainly haven't had a ton of extra time to get things done.

minipie · 13/05/2020 18:48

Not a huge amount tbh. Discovered some new recipes. Read some books. Planted a few things in the garden. Homeschooled, and prevented from killing each other, a 5 and 7 year old.

I’ve recently (um, yesterday) started doing exercise so hopefully I can add that to the list soon... if I keep it up

Cocolapew · 13/05/2020 18:51

Tidied the garden, painted the fence and shed.
Painted the dining room and living room. Helped Dd paint her room.
Sorted out my underwear drawer.
Walked everyday.
Finished 2 1000 piece jigsaws, first time I've done any.
I'm now learning the tin whistle 🙈
